After I read her ideas about Covid-19, I was wishing that Inging had told us a bit more. What activities had she planned that had to be cancelled? What did she want to study? Where? Why? What travel plan was cancelled? I hope she writes a comment to tell us some of those details.
ReplyDeleteFor example, I had been planning to visit Australia at Songkran, but Covid-19 forced me to cancel that plan. Actually, I usually visit Australia at Songkran. I don't much like the way its celebrated around my home on Silom, and the weather is very hot, so Songkran is a good time for me to visit my family and friends in Australia. I don't go for long, usually just one week, but that's enough time to spend a day or two in Sydney and to see my family in the country. I missed that this year. There was no duck dinner cooked by my brother, and I didn't get to set on his verandah in the morning listening to the birds and watching his cattle slowly move around munching grass. I even missed arguing with my mum! I hope the emergency ends soon so that I can make new travel plans and start eating out again.
But I think I'm lucky compared to many people. I've been able to switch to working from home, and haven't really had any serious problems because of Covid-19.
And you?
239 words in my comment above definitely looks as though I was writing for a few minutes, which is what we want. When you write your own comments replying to blog posts, you should be writing for about five to ten minutes, so one or two short paragraphs is about right. We normally need that much to state and develop an idea, although 100 to 150 words will usually be fine for a comment.
DeleteI am glad that I found Korean fans mate, because I also study Korean language a few years ago since I love to watch Korean series. I bet you may know VIU application that broadcast Korean series and TV shows. I enjoy learning Korean language when I can read their alphabets I was so exciting and proud of myself. I start pick up some vocab from Korean series such as 'JinJa', and 'O-Tok-Kae' then spoke it with my junior friend who is crazy about Korean Boy Bands. Me and junior friend entertaining ourselves by keep say exclamation in Korean language with Korean accent. In contrast, now a day I haven't had a chance to meet my junior friend so often so I have no one to say an exclamation in Korean Language with. Perhaps we could speak Korean sometime together after our English class if you like. Just text me :)
ReplyDeleteNum, have you practised your Korean with Jinhee? (Jinhee is a Korean student in another class I'm teaching, which Num is also in.)
DeleteWhen I lived in Taipei, I could get by in Chinese OK, and I even picked up a few words in Japanese, but I don't know a single word of Korean. I know that they are very popular these days, but I think I'll also continue to give the Korean boy bands a miss, although the performances I've short snips of look impressive.

ReplyDeleteI have never heard the K-pop music, but I have one friend, who is a big fan of K-pop music, which are Exo, Wanna one and NCT. For me, I like the Korean series because it’s kind of adorable characters in the series. Currently, I am following the next episcopes of the king: Eternal Monarch on Netflix that I would recommend you to follow it like me.
ReplyDeleteWow! I have never play golf, but I really interested in it. Since I like to play golf game on my smartphone. If the Covid-19 had gone, could you have been taught me how to play golf as the sport? Anyway, I also hate Covid-19 that it brings me cannot meet my friends.
I also listen to K-pop musics. My favourite band is BlackPink. But don’t get me wrong, I don’t really like K-pop that much I only listen to BlackPink. My favourite song is Really and my Jisoo is my favourute person in BlackPink. I used to be obsessed with k-pop when I was younger. I listen to Seventeen and Red velvet sometimes. But I don't like K-pop that much now and I can't wait for BlackPink's comeback because it's been too long now ;(.
