Prostitute in Steinbeck's novel

From Of Mice and Men's story John Steinbeck describes about prostitution in his novel that show the women, who are prostitute, do everything that make the men enjoy such as tell the joke. Those women not argue and deny the buyers although they are the black man, fat, ugly man. I agree with his idea because the women who are prostitute need the money from them.

  1. All of prostitute need is only money, so they don't care of any thing.
I think the way that they do is acceptable because it is their job, they have to do their best.

  2. Kriss,
I wasn't sure if you were agreeing with Steinbeck's presentation of prostitution, or that prostitution is not wrong. Which was it?

Tna's comment is quite clear: he thinks that prostitution is OK. I agree with him, and largely for the reason Tan gives. It is a job like any other, and if people freely chose that job, it's not wrong, even if many people would choose not to do it, just as many people choose not to work as garbage collectors.

  3. Yes Peter, because I think that is one of careers. This job is not wrong if they do that by their decision, whereas if they are forced to do that I think it is wrong for human right. I don't know that the woman in this novel is forced or not.
