When I studied in primary school and hight school, I write English a little bit because They almost teach me about communicate skill more than writing and reading skill. So, When I go to the university, Writing and reading skill is very important for me very much.
In my opinion, My reading and writing skills is medium. I hardly read English books because sometimes it hard to understand. Nevertheless, I want to improve my English skills to better and better for my good opportunity career in the future. I promised myself to read at least 1 BBS news everyday and sum up the news with my own word. I hope I can do it soon.

Yeah. From my experience, my Thai school usually focused on grammar that may be unlike you, but our school also did not make our chance to write English so much. Additionally, I think that it is very important for our future career to get the position which we want to.
ReplyDeleteIt sound good that you have passion about improving English skill by reading BBC news every day. I am proud of you, Pim.

ReplyDeleteI also had been studying like that in primary school and even in high school so I do get your situation. I think that learning method really doesn’t work. It’s high time that Thailand should develop the education system. When I was young I quite didn’t like English so much because teachers always taught me about grammar and instructed to memorize vocabularies. In my opinion, these ways are short term memory. When I came to the university I just realized that my English is so weak. It's impractical. Yet all of my classmates are great at English. I observed them because I wanted to know why their English are very good and found the way how I can be like them. Most of them have the same background. For example, they studied international school or English program since they were young. Those kinds of school have a good education system. And Teachers are also high-quality.
My friends said they practice English by listening every thing in English frequently like western song or watching the movie without sub title etc. Then they go to the next step that is speaking in English with foreigner. After their listening and speaking skills were already good they would keep improving reading skills by read newspapers, novels, magazines or any kind of book in English. This way will make you have a lot of input. So the output is writing. When you want to practice writing skills it will be not so difficult. My English teacher at faculty also told me like that. I think your idea is pretty good that you set your goals to read BBC news every day. It’s the same way that successful people did.
I will also keep practicing reading skill like you. And I wish you to be successful. Don’t give up!
Keep going and don't give up, I like the way that you use to improve yourself maybe I will try to do the same.
