    1. Of the three works of art here, my favourite is Cartier-Bresson's photograph of a street scene in Italy. I like the way the lines connect every part of the image. Not just the lines of the architecture, the fences and the street, but also how the people match those inanimate lines leading is into and through the photograph. He must have had to wait for a long time to get all those bodies in a such a happy organization.

The colours also work well - I can imagine that even in colour, the blacks and whites would not be so different. The strong black from the dresses of the women align like the equally strong blacks of the rail that leads into the image, and the arch that connects the two paths.

The Rockwell painting appeals to me the least - it's colourful and sort of fun, but that's about it.

    2. I appreciate the last picture that is the Street Scene in Haiti by Laetitia in the 20th century. I like this one because the picture is shown the living culture of Haiti at that time through the elements of this painting.

The picture made me realize that even though Haiti is an undeveloped country and is probably a colonial country, there was the economic development in the form of western style. People have cars and modern houses to live, along with the western clothing since 20th century.

However, I don't know anything in details exactly what the painter's purposes are; most of all, these three pictures show in different meanings, purposes, and the period of time.

    3. I like the second one because the picture showed the life style. From it you can imagin what they did, how they lived, how they dressed and what kind of their building. The kind of building tells you that it was influened by the art in which regions otherwise , people in the picture make you think about theirs activities. The picture expresses the feeling when you look at it make you feel very peaceful and easylife.

    4. The first picture is my most favorite one when compared among these three pieces of work. I think that Norwell has wisely painted this picture because even in the picture itself, the high-class woman and the high class of men seem to have response to the guy in the middle of this picture when he use his magnifying glass to speculate the woman's acessories, which makes the art come vivid and alive. It seems to include a humor sense in this picture also in which we can notice from the faces of those woman and men in the picture held on the wall. This is the painting that tell story by show the pictures in the picture itself.

    5. I like The Art Critic the most, because it present art in the fancy way. If you see an image in the artist's hand, there is another version of the portrait which I think it's authentic, while the lady in the portrait smiling at him. The artist didn't know that she was smiling at him because he was looking at her necklace and didn't noticed at all.
May be it means the artist can concentrate too much about the details of work instead of the spirit of the painting which is the heart of the visual art; nevertheless this painting also very well crafted and give very realistic detail and chiaroscuro (the lighting) and also the spirit of the character!

I don't have any idea about this painting but I like it very much.

    6. I like the fist picture "The Art Critic" by Norman Rockwell the most out of these three picture because its color, detail and meaning.
The color of picture are balance and I also like that tones; moreover, the painter also draw it carefully in every parts of the picture.
This picture is a sarcasm, which is very funny. In the picture, a man who is a copier of a woman portrait. is observing even a scratch on the work, while the woman and three guys in the art also look at him badly. This work is sarcasm to people who don't have their own imagination and just produce the fake to make money, which cover all art works.

    7. I like the black-white picture of Henri Cartier-Bresson because for me it looks the most realistic and can see the way of life of western people. I quite like paintings that looks like the real one. so the first and third pictures are not my answer.

Actually,I have no idea what the artist mean of these pieces of art but I think the first one maybe the man in picture try to find something to the woman picture, the second and third one might the way of life people in some European and Asian countries respectively.
