Boom's Academic Interests

My academic interest is an Interior Architecture Design. I also interested in the filed related to Interior Design such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Furniture Design. I love to design and interpret a built-environment for people to enjoy their living because it is how they live in everyday lives.

My second interest is Everyday Psychology. For example, How our brain works, How to improve our learning skills in the right way. Understanding daily psychology may make our lives healthier and easier.

Another interest is philosophy subjects. I love to think about what people think and live their lives. Therefore, I always spend my free time to read philosophy books.

  1. I like philosophy, too. I didn't get to finish my post below, but if I had had a few more minutes, there would have been another paragraph about philosophy. At first, I just read it for interest in high school, but when I got to university, I ended up with a major in philosophy. My main areas of interest were logic, which went well with my interest in mathematics, and ethics, on which I wrote my thesis exploring an problem from Aristotle that has continued through Western philosophy ever since. Aristotle isn't my favourite philosopher, but I still like to read his work: he wrote about almost everything, and his influence even in science was massive for 2,000 years, at least until the time of Copernicus and Galileo.

I think it's a useful interest for a class in academic English. As you will see when we get into the book tomorrow, there are regular critical thinking exercises, which is important in every academic area, and critical thinking is what philosophy practices.

  2. One of my friend, studying at Suankularb School, is studying Architecture. But I don't know what's major he is in. I love the design of weird building because it is different.
In terms of philosophy, what books did you read?

    1. Thank you! Bee
I have many friend from Suankularb School studied Architecture. I do not know why. I have three Architecture professors who graduated from your high school. One of them is the Dean of Architecture School at my undergraduate school. Amazing right?

I cannot think of people who love weird building. You are only one I just heard. Interesting! Many people like simple and beautiful design. Mahanakorn Building in Chongnonsee Station, for example, some people think that it is an interesting design. Some people think that it is very weird building in the centre heart of Bangkok.

I read many philosophy books. I read existentialism by Jean-Paul Sartre (French philosopher), A Little History of Philosophy, Tao, Zen and philosophy in design such as In Praise of shadow Jun'ichiro Tanizaki and Wabi-Sabi. I bought the world of sophie and many books. But, I have not read it yet.

  3. I am curious about what philosophy book you read as well :) When I studied in the University I once took the course of Aesthetics and felt fascinated with theories from many philosophers that explain about beauty. I am interested the most about Existentialism.

    1. Amazing! Kan I think you are very outstanding engineer I ever met. Again, I cannot find an engineer interest in aesthetics. Yes, I also read existentialism by Jean-Paul Sartre. I love this idea because I do not like many rules. I love freedom. I really get into existentialism. Other philosophy books I read you can find on my reply to Bee.
