I realized that I also enjoy Fashion merchandising and retail management while studying in university. I had a chance to exchange study in Paris about Luxury fashion management.
As I have my own fashion business and I believe that marketing and business administration is important skills to learn to grow a business. I read some marketing books and tips and ideas for online business.
Apart from fashion , I also like studying fashion history because fashion can be great influence to the society and I can learn history of the world through fashion.In my free time, I like to go museum and learn more about Arts, particularly Western Arts.
Although business isn't something that excites me a lot, I am interested in some of the tools used, such as the marketing you mention. Some of the most interesting economics work I've read is in behavioural economics, where economists use the statistical and other tools of economics to work out how people make decisions about what to buy. Have you ever read much in this? I think it's interesting because some of the results are not what I would expect. For example, increasing the price can make an item sell better under some conditions, which sounds a bit weird, but that is what the experimental evidence tells us happens.
ReplyDeleteClothing and fashion are out of my league. It is something I always wonder about. So whatever you say about this, I humbly listen to ;) I actually prefer to wear the same cloth everyday rather to have to think every morning what to wear.
ReplyDeleteMe, too. I always wear a white shirt and grey pants. I have two pairs of identical shoes that I alternate. But it's time I replaced at least one pair. Maybe when I'm at Paragon with friends this weekend.
DeleteWhen I'm not at work, I never wear a white shirt, although I do still often go for grey pants, if I'm not wearing black shorts and sandals.
It sounds very interesting. It is because I also have background in design. When I was studying in design school, I think I focus on only in my file which is an Interior Design. But, Now I think every filed in design tend to merge together like a multi-disciplinary design. So, I become more and more interested in fashion design and other files. I absolutely enjoy to know and understand about it.
ReplyDeleteLast year, I had a chance to collaborate with fashion designer, P’Orn and P’Mo from Painkiller Atelier to create a special collection product with them. It was a really amazing experience. They also give me a chance to watch their Fall/Winter 2017 collection at ELLE Fashion Week 2017. After watching this show, it made me really get into fashion design. P’Orn also graduated master degree from France. Her major is Luxury Management. You maybe know this school.
I also very interested in visual merchandising, window display and installation art. I think it is a very important elements to support fashion products in the market.
Absolutely every design things is related!! Many of my friends studied different fields like architect, graphic, exhibition and Fine arts have converted to work in Fashion industry. There are many roles in Fashion business that requires different design aspect especially Visual Merchandising which I think people who studied interior and Fine arts can enjoy and create more special design than fashion people.

My major only available in Thai because my faculty is very small and limited. There are no international program yet and there’re only 20 students per year for fashion design.
DeleteYou really interest in Fashion! I like fashion but hate art.Because when I was at primary school year6, I got 79/100 in that subject ,as you know one point could change my grade. My favorite fashion designer is Vatanika! What about you?
