After reading the first chapter, there are many words that I don't know, however I feell a bit enjoy it. It seem like I want to know what exactly happened to the boys. And it's remind me some reality show on the cable TV that the children were left on the island and looked them how they command themself. So It would be great to finish it. One more thing that I don't understand or very unclear is about the scene when the author describe.

I like your comparison with a reality TV show.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched a reality TV show (I never watch TV), so I don't actually know the show you mean, but can guess.
I hope the show did not turn out the way the novel does, although that reminds me of some controversial psychology experiments, such as The Experiment and Stanford prison experiment.
Now I know what the show called " Kid Nation"
ReplyDeleteIt like "Survival" as Pat's mention. But the show let the chidren supervised themself by voting for the leader. So I think the program's producer might get inspiration from this book. Sorry that I don't know how it end because I watched it only 2 or 3 times, I think.
Ps. That's very interesting that you "never watch TV". !!!
I like the way you related the information to the novel. Thanks for sharing it. It's something I would never have thought of, since I've never seen a reality TV show. I've heard of them because some of my friends talk about them, but that's all.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched TV for about 30 years. I do have a TV, which I use to watch films. I like action films - they are generally mindless and good relaxing. And sometimes more serious dramas, and comedies.
