Confession is a good thing but it is also the hardest part for people who make a mistake. An article "George Michael says he 'desreved; to go to jail" on the BBC news is a good example of a person who reform himself by making a confession.
George Michael, a singer, has said he deserved to be jailed last September for crashing his Range Rover while under the influence of cannabis. He was given an eight-week sentence and fined after driving into the front of a photo shop in London. He said going to jail had been karma for repeatedly breaking the law.
I think this news is a great example that supporting a karma is existing. Almost of every problem are based on the cause and effect concept. What the thing that you have done, it will effect to you. If you are doing good, the result will be good. And, if you are doing bad, the result will be bad. Moreover, there is one thing which is considered to be the hardest part is confession. Of course, everyone can make a mistake but some can make confession. Although George Michael had broken the law, he braved enough to confess to his fault. By the way, what happen in the past is what you cannot change. But what will happen in the future, is what you can control. And if you make a mistake, do not hesitate to confess it.

I agee with you, everyone in this word had done something wrong but only some of them can accept and confess it especially for people who are in public. It is not easy to accept that you are wrong but if you can accept it and even confess it out. This can be an evidence to proof that you are really brave to take responsibility in what you have done.
ReplyDeleteI agree, confession can be the hardest thing, especially when you're under pressure or not in the best state and avoiding your wrongdoing will only bring further problems in your life. However, I'd like to mention a great case scenario of this situation, it is Lindsay Lohan's case that will be particularly decided on this Thursday. The hearing is for her felony grand theft of a necklace that reported stolen from a jewelry store. This is not Lohan's first crime, she has violated a probation in her drunken driving case and was warned by two other judges that she will go to jail if she gets in trouble again, she also committed other misdemeanors and was sent to rehabs several times. In this point, I think George Micheal really should give some advices to Lohan before this Thursday hearing, because it seems that the more crimes she gets away, the more destructive behaviors have become. I hope she will do what Micheal did, not only it'd help her to realize her wrongdoing but, with professional help, it will help to give her control back on life. Which I absolutely agree with your last sentence "what happen in the past is what you cannot change, but what will happen in the future, is what you can control. And if you make a mistake, do not hesitate to confess it", people can make mistake but first you have to confront yourself to admit that you were wrong.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I agree with Hartmann that drugs should not be illegal (2007, p. 227), I also think that there should be stronger penalties for using drugs like alcohol and then driving because that is a real threat to other people.
ReplyDeleteI think Michael deserved his prison sentence or a longer one. And so does everyone who drinks and drives or uses some other drug and then drives: they should be sent to prison for endangering other people on the road. On teh other hand, if people want to get drunk or high on heroin, marijuana or whatever at home, that's their business and the state should not interfere with unjust laws against it. Such behaviour is probably stupid, or maybe just sociable, but if you're only harming yourself, or just having fun, making it illegal is immoral and unjust. I can't think of any good reason why buying, selling and using drugs such as alcohol, marijuana, heroin, tobacco and so on should be illegal. Can you?

And now I've just seen Pete's comment.
ReplyDeleteLohan certainly seems to have some serious drug and drug related problems - I think she should be in prison for her crimes, like stealing, reckless driving and so on.
And she should get some professional help for her drug problems and any psychological problems she might have. I feel sorry for her, but she is still responsible for her life and her actions. I guess I agree with Pete's assessment that "it seems that the more crimes she gets away, the more destructive behaviors have become". Letting her off without any real punishment doesn't seem to be helping her or anyone else. She needs a serious push to make her think about getting help and changing her behaviour. Perhaps prison would be the best thing for her.
Whatever happens, I hope she has the good sense to get the help she seems so desperately to need. She doesn't seem like a very happy person to me.
According to the sentence that you say "If you are doing good, the result will be good. And, if you are doing bad, the result will be bad", it's very nice speech and I have this idea in my head for a long time. It's hard for someone to get confession for the mistake that have done before. But if you do some mistake or something like guilty, how can you confess that and how brave to be more confession. For this story, it's good example for many people that they can see someone who done a mistake and he deserve what've he done.
ReplyDeleteSome people think that confession is a surrender. If they confess, it means surrender. So,they don't want to surrender even though they do a mistake. This behavior is not good. If you do a confession quicker it will fate faster. One of the most important thing ,if you accept a sin quicker, you will gain a good chance faster from friends and family. They always forgive. Forgiveness is a giving alms
