Smart Phone not Simple Mobile Phone

From a simple mobile in the past to a smartphone in the present, these changes drive communications among people over the world more closely and easily. The mobile phone recently does not only for the communications but also for entertainments like playing games, listening to music, checking e-mail and chatting via texting. Mobile developers have been continuing to improve the mobiles applications to meet people needs and suit for the era of globalization.

As "Smartphone to measure radiation" from the BBC news online states that a smartphone is being developed for measuring radiation levels. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake damaged Fukushima nuclear plant, many people are worried about effects of leaking nuclear. Thus, the Japanese mobile phone NTT DoCoMo has researched and developed changeable jackets to measure radiation levels. In addition, the jackets will measure bad breath, body mass and monitor level of skin-damaging ultraviolet light as well.

Mobile phones are not used as a phone call anymore. In my views, people also use them on various purposes, such as sending e-mail, checking traffic situations or stock exchanges. Because it is convenient to people to spontaneously come up with any information which they want to know. The mobile become a part of our life, I do not know when, but now it is. When I am on BTS or Airport rail link to go home, I always see many people do with mobile phone, especially, iPhone and Blackberry. Sometime, many students go home together but they talk to each other via text on BB. I do not understand well why do not talk to their friends directly. Is it good? I do not think so. Is it harmful our life or not? It depends on the way we use it. We should make a good adjustment. One thing I know, mobile phone- smart phone is the most pop culture in Bangkok now.

  1. I think simple mobile phone is enough for everyone, but it will better if we have smart phone because it's comfortable when we go out. However, I agree with you that we should talk with our friends directly, for if we talk with them by mobile phone, we may not know that everything which they said it was real or not.

  3. Kwang,
I forgot to tell you that I like your picture in this article very much! This is your idea, right?

  4. Preaw,

I think so that a simple mobile phone is enough. However, accessibility to the Internet to get some information nowadays is very important and a smartphone is a small portable tool that is the easiest one to bring with you everywhere. It is better that we have one as your post.

Anyway, Thanks to notice the picture ^^

  5. I like the picture, too. It's well chosen to illustrate both the popularity and usefulness of a smart phone.

Actually, my non-smart phone is still smart enough to have basic Internet access. But it's more than three years old now, and apart from automatically posting photos to a blog, and a couple of other things, the internet access is pretty limited compared to what is common today.

But I'm still hoping it holds out for another 12 months or so. What I really want is for the soon to be released Lytro light field technology to be incorporated into a mobile so that focussing becomes irrelevant. (I like photography, but I'm not very good at it.)

  6. I like your picture Kwang.
I think both smartphone and non-smartphone are useful. It depends on what's tool that you wanna use.
And I agree with you that we should talk not just chat via mobile. Because talk each other, we will know another's real emotion.

  7. Kwang,

I agree with you. Technology is developed to make people life easier or get more convenience. However, everything has two sides so people should use them for getting a better life by choosing useful function and having a limited usage. And importantly, people should not forget to see a person who you are with at that time as importance!

  8. Kwang,
I agree with your opinion about the advantages of smartphones and I am also worried about the wrong uses of them. The most up-to-date communicative technologis such as smartphone and internet play roles of disconnection between generations. For example, young students are making abbreviations for every day life. Adult generation can't understand what they are talking about or when they see the strange words on the screens of phones and computers. Moreover, the young often use their words in the school assignments because they think these words are standard. It is said that languages represent contemporary culture. At this point,I am concerned a lot. By the way, the picture is very interesting

  9. I believe simple phone still useful for older generation like my parents. Honestly I don't really know how to use my own phone! I only use for simple things like sms, check email, make and receive call. I don't have time to learn other facilities unless no choice like what we are doing in the blog. I don't really let my children to use my ipod. In their ages, specially for my son who is almost 4, he needs to do things that is natural. I means he suppose to do coloring, painting, drawing or writing with his hand. By doing those things, he is practicing self control, patient and concentration. For my daughter who is 10, asking us to buy her one. We didn't agree because we wants to protect her from any bad influences. We don't her to go to internet so easy. In the other hand, business people and higher level students need it It really help them to get information that they want or need.
About the phone that can measure radiation, I think that company need to add more function that can protect them from radiation. You can see the www.q-linkproducts.com to understand about this product. I have some for my family. My kids use it when they have to be in the computer or making phone for long time.

  10. Mur reminds me that I don't use all the functions on the simple phone I've already got. I make and receive calls, take a photo or video occasionally, and sometimes use the alarm functions. And that's about it. Another reason I'm in no rush to upgrade.

And I don't have an iPad or notebook computer. But I do love my Kindle for reading. (I might already have mentioned that, but I've only had it a month or so, so it's still new and wonderful.)

Actually, I'm a bit like Mur - I only go to the trouble of getting and learning something if I think it has some real use for me. Footnotes in word processing programs are very useful, as I learnt a long time ago.

  11. I like your illustration and I agree with point that people should talk and interactive with others because the most people who use smartphone usually pay more attendtion to chat on mobiles. I think smartphones have many benefits. We should learn to use it valuably.

  12. This topic reminds me of receiving text massages.

Do you have a problem like me?
Everyday, I have to spend a lot of time deleting numerous automatic SMS or spam. They includes information that does not interest me at all. As I have remembered, I never ask the service provider to sent news about promotion prices, ringtone, horoscopes, and so on. Why the provider let it happen?

I think up-to-date communication helps us connect with other people more effectively; on other hand, someone more easily communicate with you despite no permission.

  13. Mobile phone make my life more convenient. I use it to write and answer email. It also has variety applications such as facetime, watsApp, facebook or BBC News. I never used to like technology, but now I interested to learn new innovations. Technologies has changed quickly we must catch up with it's for fun and pleasure.

  14. Plan,
I used to get pretty angry with all the garbage SMS spam, especially idiocy like horoscopes.

You can cancel it all. I called AIS's customer service number and they stopped all of the spam SMS messages. I get only SMSs sent to me.

  15. @ Sunny,
I aslo use abbreviation words when I text friends. I know that it can make languages ruin. For example: in English

Hi, how r u? What about ur hw,
I did it b4 went 2 sleep last nite bcus I have no time in afternoon.
    Btw, see u tmr.

Not only do we understand them, but they are also typed or written quickly. I think that if we use this abbreviation words in order to get detail from when we take an English listening test. It could be a good way to use them.
