Dreams in Feem's culture
Dreams in my culture? Personally, I interpret dream as a state of mind caused by the process of my brain during sleeping. That means what I dream is what I significantly wish in my mind or what I have experienced in the past, just once or several time but related to my feeling or mind. I view that dream can also be anything which our brain and its cells try to make it happen when we are sleeping. So, it's not a miracle story or omen, but it's what happened in our conscious or conscious mind. What'more, dream is also regarded as one's future goal(s) which we want to achieve. However, in my culture, many people tend to be believe that dream is the state that tells us what will happened in the future or even the state that those who already died can contact and meet us in another world. That's why someone think that dream is the sign of warning or fortune that we might experience soon.

I sometimes think that my dreams seem significant, but I'm really not sure. I don't remember most, although for the past week or so, I have been trying to remember them. THere was one a few nights ago that woke me up, but I went back to sleep and promptly forgot it. I thought the idea in the reading we just did about lucid dreaming might be a good idea for remembering my dreams.
ReplyDeleteI have the feeling that most are about bits and piece of my life, but they seem thrown together almost at random, without any deeper meaning. Some I do remember because they recur or leave an amazingly strong impression. The most obvious ones are flying dreams, which I think I've had for many years. I know they are from different times becuase the details place them: the earliest are at one of my father's bush properties in Australia. A later one occurs at my university college, and the latest at my families new home in Australia. I like these dreams, which are happy to remember.
That is my problem too sometimes. But, I can remember my dream if it considerably affects my feeling, making me very terrified or extremely happy.
DeleteAnyway, I hope sweet dream happen every night.
Oh yeahhhhh, our dream 'is not a miracle story or omen', it is all about our conscious mind. In Thailand, we are too superstitious about dreams we have. It is not wrong but this beliefs should not affect our lives. For example, when one dream that he won lottery worth one billion dollars, he should not put his dream into reality as in fact, he is not just as affluent as he was in his dream. There is a limit to this belief - just as ones know how to balance between their reality and their dream. I totally agree with your idea. :))
