The "ticket" to brain

According to “cancer’s one-way ticket to the brain” in Newscientist, there are three key genes to push up the cancer’s cells get into the brain in mice. Before, the scientists wondered that how the cancer cells can get into the brain because there is “blood-brain barrier” which locks the way of cells. Two scientists in New York found the reason how the cancer cells can get into the brain in mice. They discovered 3 genes which support the cancer cells. One of them helps the cancer cells cling to the blood vessels, another helps to make the gap on capillaries, and the last one helps the cancer cells move into.
.This research was done in mice so that they hope “the discovery could one day lead to drugs that cancel out a similar "ticket" in people”. If this research is all right in human, the cancer patients can have more hope.

  1. Nowadays, many medical researchers interested in genetic and they are a lot of researches about it even though in Thailand. I think it is the research which never ending because if the researcher found the new treatment, the cancer might develop or modify themselves to against it, as same as we have known the virus type H1N1, it generated from other flu virus. I also hope that human research should go ahead before spreading of diseases. Genetic may be the only way to save human’s life by developing pharmacogenomics.

  2. It's almost totally unrelated, but since this is a blog where any response if OK, I'll share the idea that Nick's comment prompted: if researches uncover the genes that control intelligence, would it be desirable, or even acceptable, to use that knowledge? Should people be allowed to use genetic engineering to create smarter children? How about changing their genes to make them less prone to cancer?
Is there any significant difference between these last two questions?

  3. Wow!!we have a new hope.I think it must spend for many years before it can use in human.
There are many researches which are not success to use in human because they haven't fund to do a research or may be they haven't enough knowledge to develop to use in human.

  5. It is very good to study in these subjects.Because it will be useful for human. At the present, cancer is the most dangerous for human. If scientist or anyone can discover the medicine to prevent or cure cancer,It will be good for all of human.

  6. I like this kind of report because it gives us a hope of the treatment for the desease which is considered as incurable. However,I'm not sure all those kind of discovered has been realized for treatments for human. Maybe some of them would be. I hope that these discoverlies would not end up with just hopes.
