Bomb Explodes in Car in Creggan Area of Derry

In the era of civilization, many effective devices have been launched. These technologies have been tested for several times to make sure its efficiency. In the case of armed weapons, militarists also have to use the similar procedures as regular gadgets. The generating of violent arms is due to criminal occurrences. In contrast, these might be a concerned gap for military; as a result, the weapons such bombs or firearms are also owned by terrorists. These probably affect to individuals who are innocent.

According to the article from BBC, " Bomb Explodes in Car in Creggan Area of Derry ", this news is about the bomb's explosion in car in the outskirt of Northern Ireland which is called Creggan; however; fortunately, no one injures in the explosion.

This worrisome circumstance occurs in several different regions. To illustrate, this kind of situation has happened in some of the Middle-East nations - Iraq, Lebanon, Bahrain, Egypt and Syria-. Yet, nowadays, it takes place in South East Asia "Thailand" yes, this is my country. This violent situations occur because of political conflicts which lead to many serious issues particularly in bombing. Approximately a week ago, the bombing's news appeared on the newspaper page almost every day. This reminds me to think of a quote that if we don't end the war, war will end us.(Herbert George Wells, 1936) I heard this catch phrase for the first time when I read a novel; therefore, it makes me to recall the issue which now is occurring in my nation.

At the present time, violence perhaps becomes a part of people's live due to the occurrence of serious problems as we can see from the news which is shown in the second paragraph. Furthermore, This massive explosion is related to political issues both in the main and local government. In order to reach the political goal, politicians might behave inappropriately; for instance, they may threaten citizens if they do not support or elect. Hence, ones cannot deny the fact that this circumstance takes place frequently in any places.

To summarize, harmful situations can be occurred everywhere; thus, individuals ought to realize and care yourselves firstly. In my viewpoint, we might address this issue if persons aware of equality and reverence or we probably get rid of the elderly political system.

  1. I like Wann's strong concluding idea, that "we might address this issue if persons aware of equality and reverence or we probably get rid of the elderly political system" (para. 5).

But it naturally invites follow up questions. The two that first came to my mind were:
    1. What changes in the law could help to make people "aware of equality and reverence"?

    2. If we "get rid of the elderly political system," with what should it be replaced?

Can you help Wann and I explore these issues which are so relevant to people's lives?

    1. It was also a good opportunity for me to use some "quotation marks".

    2. I think one change that is always a good thing is stronger legal protection for free speech, and much less censorship. Censorship and suppression of free speech is always done to make people ignorant on the topic being censored, and I'm sure that knowledge and informed opinion are generally preferable to such legally enforced ignorance.

If there is free and open discussion, opinions that strongly disagree with false and unjust beliefs can be stated. This might offend many people (it certainly will offend some people), but it also means that the false and unjust opinions held by many might be corrected, or at least challenged by reason and evidence.

  2. I think one of the reason that there are bomb's explosion daily because now weapons are too easy to find and to trade. I think more strictly regulation should be provided to control the illegally weapon's trade; for example, the imprisoned time should be longer. Moreover, I also agree with you that for reaching their goal, politicians may behave inappropriately. I think that they should be the one that control and prevent the unexpected severely events instead of creating them.

  3. In another class I'm teaching this term, we have been discussing terrorism, and apart from the extreme difficulty of coming to a definition of the noun terrorism that all would agree to, another question I thought worth some discussion was whether or not terrorism could ever be an acceptable way to achieve a political end. clearly, some people do think such acts are, at least sometimes, justified. But are they?

One example given was that described in the book of Exodus in the Judeo-Christian Bible. This book tells the story of the Isralites' (Jews) liberation from slavery in Egypt, which political aim is achieved by an increasingly severe series of attacks against ordinary Egyptian people, from plagues of locusts that eat their crops to the final act, where the god of the Jews and Christians acts on his threat to "pass through the land of Egypt this night, and ... smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast" (King James Version, Ex.12:12).

This sounds like terrorism to me, and much worse than anything modern terrorists do with bombs.

    Is this god a terrorist?
If he is, was the terrorism justified?
If it was not terrorism to kill millions of innocent children (why not?), was that justified?
