The Darker, the better

When you going to coffee shop, your favorite menu might be americano, cappuccino, latte, or may be esspresso, but the most popular beverage that can be ordered at any range of age is chocolate. Every day, a lot of people prefer to eat chocolate from many products such as candy, beverage, or dessert. But what is the benefit of the chocolate? Is this may cause obesity, diabetes, or other disease?

From the article "Gut bacteria turn dark chocolate 'healthy' ", we found that bacteria in our stomach ferment compound in chocolate into useful anti-inflammatory compounds that are good for your heart, and most of solid dark chocolate contains the same compounds too. The science still study an idea and plan to make a chocolate pill for prevent heart disease in our future.

ฺBy the way, we can't find or get these protective flavanols in the most of the candy on that market, as cocoa flavanols are often destroyed by the processing. There are still have health benefits from chocolate's ingredients with less sugar, by the ways dark chocolate may be a best choice for you to choose it.

However, Eating chocolate will be good for your health, if you eat it the right way. These don't mean to include sugar, milk, cream, some ingredient that may cause disadvantage for chocolate. Chocolate may have advantages to your health, however you should choose what you eat. Dark chocolate is good for your health but you should eat in limit, chocolate beverage that include a lot of sugar, milk ,or cream may cause fat or kind of disease.

Fortunately, my eating habit dislike sweet flavor, so I never worry about it. But contrarily with my friend who loves to eat sweet and didn't change her habit. The disadvantage didn't express you in early but it will accumulate and effect the cause in long term. My suggestion doesn't mean that you have to change your diet habit immediately; but to change in a little bit to decrease sweet flavor. You can choose it by yourself that continue your habit and attitude of eating with no limit and causing you an illness in the future or control to eat and make you be able to enjoy eating like me!

  1. Mim,
Thanks for that excellent news. My favourite chocolate, which is always sitting on my bedside table, is Lindt Excellence 99% - it's about as dark as you can get. I love it. It's almost pure cocoa, with no sugar or milk.

I also like dark some sweetened dark chocolate, and a rich Sacher Torte (the Oriental Hotel makes a good one), but the Lindt is my regular indulgence. And now I have another reason to indulge.

  2. I love chocolate too, but I don't like dark chocolate. I know it's good but its taste is very bitter. As dessert and candy, I prefer creamy milk chocolate, but I prefer dark chocolate for beverage. I think chocolate is like a drug, it's addictive. In the past, I ate it almost everyday. Now, I try to eat less chocolate because I am too fat.

    1. I think the strong, slightly bitter taste, helps to stop me overeating the dark chocolate I like. I can make do by sucking on a square or two of very tasty 99% cocoa, but when I'm eating sweet dark chocolate, I often eat a whole box at once - I'm sure that sort of sugar overload is not healthy.

  3. This is great news. I also don't like sweet flavor. I really love dark chocolate. I like the bitter taste of it. I also like drinking hot and ice chocolate that have less sugar. If I make my own chocolate beverage, I usually don't add any sweetener.

  4. I also the one who like to eat dark chocolate. I always eat up 80% cocoa because over 80%, it's too bitter taste for me. Moreover, I think that chocolate is easy to addict. For example, if I start to drink or eat chocolate, I have to continue doing that for a whole week. Also, according to your information about the benefit of chocolate, now I can have an excuse for myself when I eat a large amount of it. Furthermore, I always eat chocolate when I feel stress or tried, I think it's can make me feel more relax and have a quick energy. Anyway, I will try to limit my chocolate consumption in order to not gaining my weight.
