From "Goggle-eyedglasses swap your lying eyes for fake ones" article, Hirotaka Osawa, a Japanese engineer, has invented goggles called AgencyGlass which used as the emotional prop that assist people to escape from boring moment. This invention act as a robot that can sense your movement and react according to it, for example, "If your head drops forward or leans backward, the eyes will move to maintain gaze direction at your conversation partner."
I think that the AgencyGlass has both props and cons. For the advantage, I think it is very useful for you when you feel sleepy and have to attend conference, meeting, or even studying because if you sleep in front of speakers or teachers, they might feel bad and lose their confidence. For example, you have to attend a conference on the topic that you are not interested in. You sit in the front row and take a nap without wearing the AgencyGlass while speaker is presenting. The speaker might look at you and think that their topic is boring, and then they might lose their concentration and confidence. While in fact, their topic is very interesting and their presentation is very good, but the problem doesn't come from them, but it comes from you. In contrast, if you wear the AgencyGlass, the speaker might not feel bad even through you are sleeping because they will still have eye contract from your fake eye. For the disadvantage, I think wearing AgencyGlass might disturb the speaker or teacher because they may focus only on the AgencyGlass and forget what they have to say.
If this AgencyGlass is ready for sell, I think I will buy one. However, I think that participating and responding to the speaker or teacher is still essential, so you should use this goggled only when you really need it.

If someone in my audience were those glasses, I might be focussing on them more than what I was saying. But perhaps a more evolved generation will look less conspicuously odd.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure that these new glasses will be useful. I think they're quite strange and may be funny, imagine that everyone wear these glasses in a serious meeting. But if inventor improve them, it may be good.
ReplyDeleteKloy,
DeleteThank you for your two daily blog comments.
I'm busy doing my reviews of your first drafts answering Hartmann's question, and responding to your comments is a good excuse to take a short, relaxing break.
Reviewing is much harder work than blogging, as I suspect you might already have realized.
In fact, I think I should take a proper break and watch a crap but entertaining film before my brain stops working and I start writing rubbish in my review comments. Or maybe a short nap isn't a bad idea.
A film and a square or two of very dark chocolate sounds healthy.
I think these new glass will lead many cons to users. They also make users have a bad habit. I think if we feel tired, we should rest. Don't pretend to be OK.
