I have been intersted in Ukiyoe, which is Japanese wood carving since I have lived in foregin country. The time is almost 300 yeas ago. Especially, I like the artist whose name is Hokusai Katsusika. His wood carvings are very faint, sensitive and beautiful. He left a lot of masterpieces about the Mr.Fuji. They consists of 36 seenary. His technich is between movement and scilenct, for example he depicte the wave as moving, on the other hand he described the mountain as never moving. He used the skill far and near, for example, he depict the mountain in upper of the picture. And he describe the wave or ship in the lower of the picture. His art made a influence on Van goph. If you see the his arts, you might be surprised that there are alomost same. The logo of quick silver, which is surfing apparel company, is also based on his arts. The logo of Fuji, which is japanese restaunt in Thailand, also comes from his art.
