Are Britain's Doctors right or wrong?

The British Medical Association, the largest organisation of doctors in Britain, has today called for a total ban on the advertising of all alcohol products ("Doctors want booze", 2009). This would be similar to the total ban on advertising cigarettes that now exists in many countries.
  • Do you agree with the British Medical Association and the 141,000 doctors that it represents in Britain?
  • Should your country impose a similar ban on the advertising of alcoholic drinks?
  • Do you agree with the current total ban on cigarette advertising?
  • How did you decide whether or not you agree? What are important issues here?
Please share your ideas in a comment, or several comments, below.
As you read your classmates' commments, you are welcome to support opinions you agree with, and to oppose opinions that you think are wrong.
