Five years ago, when I was surfing the internet, I found a picture of a beautiful birthday pop-up card. At that time, I started to curious about how it works. Then I spent a lot of time searching for the methods to
create this kind of cards. I finally found plenty of explanations about how to
make it and that made me more interested in this type of cards.
I am interested in pop-up cards because of its complicated mechanism. In order to design such a creative card by yourself, you need to think carefully about how to make the picture pop out, in the way you need, from the paper when it is opened. However, it is quite easy for everyone to make a card by using patterns which has already been created by someone. These days, you can find a lot of free and beautiful patterns on the internet. In case that you are looking for a wonderful card for someone, I recommend a handmade pop-up card. I believe that the reader will impress your amazing card so much.

That's interesting. I love e-card too. I had made one when I was in the university. :)
ReplyDeleteI like pop-up works as well. It looks wonderful thing that human can create from a pile of plain paper.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but cards don't excite me very much, although I do spend some time finding suitable ones for special occasions, and sometimes even make them myself. Or I used to.
ReplyDeleteBut when I read your post, I immediately remembered learning to knit and crochet from a couple of my aunts when I was very young, I guess 6 - 7 years old. I thought it was amazing how the single strand of wool or cotton thread went up from a ball and turned into a sweater or a hat or something else. I loved learning new stitches and techniques. Unfortunately, I was a bit impatient, so could never manage to produce an actual sweater, but I could manage colourful hats and other smaller things. I was very good at baby booties, and since my mother kindly supplied me with seven younger brothers and sisters, these were actually useful.
My grandmother also knitted many stuffs, such as a covered piece of bottle that turns its look to a vase, or tissue box cover which is her favourite knitting work. Unfortunately, she cannot knit or crochet clothing. I don't actually know the reason, but I guess it may be because she was a dressmaker and her daughter, my aunt, continued to make her a few dresses per year before she had a stroke 2 years ago.
DeleteSurprisingly, Crochet is one of my favorite hobbies as well. When we talk about crochet, most people usually think of clothes such as sweaters or gloves. However, I do it in the different way. I make crochet dolls, which can be called "amigurumi". The doll consists of several parts such as head, body, legs, and arms, Which are made by crocheting. All these parts are stuffed and sewn together. The most difficult process of making amigurumi, in my opinion, is decoration, I always spend a lot of time when I have to embroider the face of my dolls. Recently, I have crocheted 3 pigs from Angry bird, and I spent the whole night for each pig in order to make it look alike the pig in the game as much as I can. After I finished them, I think they are so cute^^.
DeleteI used to knit and crochet toys, too. They were small enough that I could finish them fairly quickly, and much more interesting than boring sweaters and things. I remember one of my favourites that lasted a long time was a dinosaur I knitted. The hardest bit was the head and face - very fiddly. And the legs.
DeleteYour pigs sound cool.
Me too. I like crocheting, which is my mom's hobby too, because it make you concentrate and be endeavor to crochet until finish. Last New Year, I crocheted small handbag like I always use to be a present to my teachers. And they were amazed and surprised that I did it for them.
DeleteI like pop-up cards, too. I made pop-up halloween card by myself, which are simple pop-up and easy to make, but kids like it very much. Are you also interested in pop-up books? There are many pop-up books not only for children but also adults. Some of them are so beautiful that you can use as decorations in Christmas season, too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am also interested in pop-up book. And I used to have a Lion king pop-up book when I was in primary school. It is a pity that I am not able to find it now, I think I have lost it several years ago before I was attracted by the wonderful mechanism of pop-up cards.
DeleteI like pop-up cards, too. And I imagine that how much surprise I would have if I open a card and there are lots of flowers push out from the card.
