I graduated in Veterinary science. And I'm also interested in foreign language- Japanese. The influence is from Manga, Japanese cartoons, Dramas and cultures. Then I decided to study in Science-Math-japanese program in the most famous secondary school in Thailand - Triamudom school. But unlucky me, I was failed to study there. After that, I learn Japanese by myself for moths. Because of study so hard, I ceased to learn it.
Language is very important to communicate with other people. The more language you speak, the more world you see. I love to read many genres of books, I hope one day I can read Japanese manga in orginal version when I can speak Japanese fluently.

I feel very happy that you are interested in Japanese, and also you like Japanese Mangas!
ReplyDeleteWhich Manga do you like? I like to read Mangas. Twenty years ago, Manga was regarded as second class art, but I think there are many things which Manga can tell readers in better way than other arts.
I don't know enough to comment on the Manga, but I'm glad that they can be seen as making real contributions to a culture and its art.
DeleteNow, how about food? Is food an art? Does food rate as highly as art as Manga?
(For those aren't in it, Chieko is in my Reading and Speaking class as well, where our next reading is asking and answering this question. I'm sure all ideas will be welcome.)
I agree that manga and Japanese animation films are the most easily accessible media to learn Japanese culture.
DeleteI love all types of manga. it's amazing when I read the imaginary of the author to draw it in picture. my favorite manga when I was young is "Sailors moon". lol but now I prefer mystery manga like "Conan" and funny manga like "Crayon shinchan" and "Keroro".
DeleteAnd I totally agree with Cee. Most Thai teens learn Japan culture and tradition from Manga. Like cosplay, it's quite popular in teens, maybe a fads for a while.
And I think food can be arts because decoration in each dish is amazing, beautiful and definitely yummy. lol
Conan sounds good to me.
DeleteNow that I've finished my homework, at last, I might watch one of the Conan films I have on DVD, or something similar, before I go to bed. (I did admit in an earlier comment that I like mindless action films.)
I think food can be art, but different from music, books, paintings, plays, and so on. If I think about some pieces of arts which I really like, I remember the strong impression I got from them, and feel that the impression still remains in me ( and some of them changed my thinking, too) I remember some good food I ate, and want to eat them again, but the memory of them doesn't reminds me of such impression I got from other arts. At least food have never changed my thinking.
DeleteI was also interested in Japanese, after many tries, I realised I'm not good at languages. Just English is enough to make me stressful. I love Japanese Manga, animations and their literatures. Miyazaki Hayao and Murakami Haruki are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI like Japanese mystery novel like "Mikeneko Holmes"
Delete, "RINGS", "Spiral" and "Kindaichi". They have different feeling with western mystery one. Maybe I'm Asian, so we share some similarity in cultures and traditions. But sometimes it's not easy to understand Japanese writer's imply which is charming and attraction of Japanese books. lol
I used to learn Japanese as an elective course in my high school, I failed too. I was too lazy to remember and understand new language. I give up on it, now, I quite regret why I am not keep doing and continuing it. I have learned many languages; Chinese, Japanese and Korea. I failed it all!! I have a problem with language for sure:)
ReplyDeleteI don't think so sis. You don't have a problem with language because you are industrial to study English with me now. You will when you believe that you can.^^
DeleteI think you should find your inspiration before you study other language. My close friend was crazy in Korean singers. Then she decided to study Korean language in order to understand the lyrics of her favourite song. Every time when she goes to Korea, she uses Korean language. And she thinks that her Korean is better than her English.
DeleteI am really interested in Japanese language too. As I used to work in 2 Japanese companies, I was familiar with Japaneses people so much. Then I tried to study their language by taking 3 Japanese courses at my company. At that time, I was able to understand and speak some simple sentences, but that was 2 years ago. Now I have already forgotten almost everything. However, I have planed to take some courses again after finishing my master degree.
