Katie's non-formal academic interests

Getting old, I come to pay attention on Health.
How can I maintain my good health and prevent health problems? How can I eat good things for my health? Nowadays' medical topics are the most interesting things. Also, good recipes for good health.

  1. I pay attention to my health, too, but it tends to be a bit academic in one of the other senses that the OED records: "Not leading to a decision; unpractical; strictly theoretical or formal" (academic n. and , 2012, B., 5.).

I'm sure I would be healthier, and a little slimmer, if I did more than read up on the latest research. But actually working out regularly seems so much more difficult as I get older. From when I was at uni. until about 10 years ago, it was easy. Now, when it would probably help me even more, it seems much more difficult to set aside the time. I kind of hope that jumping around in the classroom a bit helps - at least I am standing and moving around for a few hours most days.

  2. I absolutely agree with you. I found that it's difficult to outdoor exercise than before in Korea. Since moving here first one year I would avoid even walking outside but now I try to walk and commute by BRT and BTS.

    1. I agree setting aside the time to work out is difficult, but an excercise is addictive. If you get used to work out, you cannot stop it. It is more difficult.
Eating food is also important. Nowadays, I'm wondering whether I have to eat an egg or not. Cholesterol is a problem. Some researchers say cholesterol in the yolk is very bad, but other researchers say it's ok considering an egg's perfectness for health.

  3. I agree with Katie that we should focus on health. Nowadays, younger people are facing some problems about their health due to what they eat and what they do.
I sometimes take care of my health well and get weight in control but not for now, I tend to eat a lot and avoid activities that makes me sweat. It's not a good habit, so I will improve my self-discipline.

    1. Everybody know the necessitiy of an exercise, but only some of them do a real workout. The sad fact is that the remains finally do an exercise after getting disease.

    1. Jae,
I'm sorry. But the comments you've just written are very good.

After I made similar mistakes a couple of times, I got into the habit of copying my comments before I published them:
      1. Ctrl+A - selects all the comment text
      2. Ctrl+C - copies it all to the clipboard.

If there is a problem, it's all saved and you can use Ctrl+V to paste it in and try again.

    2. Never mind. Sometimes I do. When I balmed my daughter on blowing off her essay, I didn't expect I put myself in her shoes. Nowaday, from the first pursuasive essay to my replies, I often click a wrong button. I just wanted to close a window. A thing make me angrier is some freeware's question box appearing clik a close button. One of them's question is 'Negative' question, so the meaning of 'agree' and 'I don't agree' are changed. So smart!
