What I read
In "Hi-tech dreamcatcher defeats sleep amnesia", Jane Wakefield (2018) says that Adam Haar Horowitz invented a tool was named "Dormio" because he thought dreams can influence people's day life. The tool record and research a specific stage in our sleep when we were dreaming. A lot of scientists try to explain the secret. The tool could send some message to him when he dreamed. Now, Dormio just tested 15 people. Some researchers thought we didn't need to remember dreams, Dormio just an Advanced tool, it couldn't achieve some effect. For Mr. Horowitz, he thought when we use this tool, it will be a journey of self-discovery.

My response
A film is running into my mind. This is recently one of my favorite films called Secret Superstar. I had a deep impression for a conversation. The main role of a young girl talked to her mother, "You always let me sleep, but you don't let me dream. Dreaming is the most basic right for human." This dream is different from sleeping. The girl was born in India. Her father thought girls are different from boys, and girls shouldn't have dreams. I recommend this good film. Another actor which named Aamir Khan is the best actor in India. His films usually expose pervasive social problems in India.
For my part, I like both dreams. We have an interesting story of a dream in China. If I dreamed I jump off a high building, My height will increase. In my childhood, I usually think I probably had many same dreams when I was sleeping. So I'm tall in my family. In my opinion, dream is a beautiful thing in my life, I curious about my sleeping dreams. I also have some dreams to make me know where I am going.

Yes, I like to dream, but I remember almost zero of my dreams. I think in my entire life there are only three or four that I can remember as I'm typing these words. One is a very old dream that I might have had years ago and which I think was repeated a couple of times. It's of me flying. Actually, now that I think about it, there are a couple of variations on flying dreams. The weirdest one isn't really flying so much as floating down the stairs at the college I lived in when I was at Sydney University. It's weird. I think I remember it for the emotions in the dream as much as anything. The other one that comes to mind was a nightmare I had a few months ago. Unusually, it stuck in my mind after I woke up. Usually, I wake up remembering a dream, but I don't think about it, and a few minutes later, by the time I sit down with my morning coffee in front of the computer to read the news and do my daily blogging and the like, the dreams are gone forever.
ReplyDeleteAnd I had another response to Na's interesting post, but I'll write about it later, perhaps with the afternoon coffee.
But I don't agree with Freud that dreams give us any very deep or special insights into ourselves. I think they are more likely the brain making sense of activity that occurs in that organ as it does its job during sleep, and these more-or-less random images and so on are turned into stories. But they can still be interesting.
DeleteI still believe that dream have lots of secrets, because now we can't explain some strange things by science, and different people have different sensitivities in the environment. For example, If someone can see some creature what come from four-dimensional space, maybe it's called ghost in the past. When our science can't reach more advanced technology, this phenomenon is called a different name.
DeleteI can't remember when was the last time I had a dream. According to the article, it seems like everyone always has dream while sleeping at night, but most of them just don't remember any of their dreams. If this's true, it means that I still have a dream every night. Now, I really wonder what I dream about. If in the future there is a device that can record dream like in the article, I think I would like to have a try.
ReplyDeleteI used to dream when I was a little boy a long time ago. Now I can't remember when was the last time that I had a dream. From what I have known, a dream is related to REM (rapid eye movement) sleep which scientifically could help us consolidate memories and retain information. So, definite amount of REM sleep is very important.I think, it is nice to have a dream although we sometimes can't remember it.
ReplyDeleteI always dream when I sleep even when I just take a nap in a car. I do not want to dream because it makes me feel like I couldn't have a good deep sleep. When I woke up, I was still thinking about that dream even I would forget later. And I often sleepwalk at night, it makes other people think someone was in me! Anyways, I don't want to dream, but I like dreaming. I think dreaming is interesting. I wonder why we dream, and why we dream like that. Things about neuroscience always interest me. The brain is the most wonderful part to know but it's hard to understand as well.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I like dream, sometimes I don't like. It depend on what I dream. when I have sweet dream after I get up, I will be happy all the day. In contrast, when I have a nightmare or adventure dream after I wake up, I feel I don't sleep enough so I don't like this dream.
ReplyDeleteI can remember some dreams but only an hour after I wake up. I always tell my dream to my parent. When I tell my dream to someone, I will remember longer.
I don't like to dream even though they are good dream because when you are dreaming, you don't know that it's real or just a dream.
ReplyDeleteSo I don't like the disappointment feeling that occur when you wake up from very good dream and realize that it's just a dream.
Yeah I like to dream because, in my opinion, dream is
ReplyDeleteone way to travel as far as you think and it may be good if I recognize myself. In contrast I am scared also when I have a marenight and I believe that bad dream will not occur in fact.
