According to “Searching for the 'angel' who held me on Westminster Bridge “ (2018).
In a car terror attack on the Westminster Bridge. Will was going to a
meeting with his team. He had walk to be on time. The quickest route is to
cross the bridge. Suddenly while he walk , a car crashed him from behind. Then
the woman that later becomes his angel comes to support him by a basics nursing
skills. Will can’t remember anything but only her face. Will was helped by Cristina
who biking around there. She said that she heard a scream on the bridge and
some people obstructed her to go on the bridge. She left her bicycle , run to
Will and checked him. After that they were
separated. Cristina didn’t give him a contact or anything else that can make
Will know who was his angel.
My response
After reading this news. Firstly I have to tell that Will is lucky and unlucky also. If Cristina didn’t come to help him. Maybe he’ll died as the five people who lost their lives in this terrorism. I think Cristina was a hero. She not only good at nursing but she also brave to run on the bridge that has a terrorism. She was brave to exchange her life to the risk. Cristina had shown the power of a woman to every witness and everyone who follows the news.
This make me realize to the importance of a basics nursing skills. Everyone can learn this to help people as Cristina. An accident can happen every time. So if we know the basic nursing. In the emergency that maybe sometimes the doctor or nurse can’t reach the injured on time, the basics nursing is indeed may be required.

What interested me the most about this article was that it shows us that cars are terrorist weapons. Therefore, since terrorist weapons should be banned, surely that means cars must also be banned, at least privately owned and driven cars. It seems that by allowing anyone to own and drive a car, the government is inviting similar acts of terrorism using these weapons. But perhaps I've just been influenced by reading Beer's post below "The Hermit Country- on national disaster prevention," and thinking about the ideas that come up there.
ReplyDeleteIt is important for sure because this practice can change one's life. That is, if it was done wrongly, it can cause serious health problems, but if it was done accurately, it can rescue life of the others. Therefore, i am agree with you that it is basic nursing is important.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your blog post reminds me of one class in my high school that teach about science related to our heath, and it also include CPR practice that is very useful to our real life. Although I rarely remamber things that I learned in my high school, I remember How to do CPR until now.
I think almost all skills are important,include basic nursing skill of course.The basic nursing skill is sure to help other people and yourself under some emergency conditions.A government should let more people to learn some basic nursing skill.
ReplyDeleteI think we need to know some basic survival skills to make our safety when the dangerous thing happened, and the skill also can help other people. Maybe it’s not basic nursing skills, it just some action to self-protect. I agree with you, I think Cristina’s action is like a superhero. In an emergency, she didn’t consider her safety, she just used her instinct to do the right thing, she is an amazing person.
ReplyDeleteI agree that basic first aid skills are important. But I think it is impractical to teach everyone because these skills require regular practice in order to do it properly. So I don’t think we have enough resource for the training. And many people might not be interested in this training because it is basically not so useful in daily life. However, if we narrow people down to some occupations that have to deal with a lot of people on daily basis such as traffic police, security guard, hotel staff, then I think having basic first aid skills for these people will be very helpful and practical because they are more likely to be in emergency situations that need first aid skills.
ReplyDeleteI think that basic first aid skills are very important. Everyone should have to learn because you don't know anything will happen in the future. For example, if you see someone down in front of you and you know about first aid skill, you will save her life. On the other hand, if no people know about first aids, it will happen to the worse case such as maybe die.
ReplyDeleteI think basic first aid is very necessary because accident can happen all the time. It should be general knowledge for everyone and should be taught in school. Nursing skills not only advantage with yourself when you have to face with unexpected situation but also good for the others who injured and need help.
