Democracy and the Moral Demands of Golf (test post)

Another test post. This time I'm checking the sizes of embedded YouTube  (and other) videos.
I tried a couple of YouTube set sizes options:

  • the smallest is 560 x 340, which is a little wider than the column;
  • the next YouTube set size for embedding a video is 640 x 385, which is the size A chose, and which noticeably hangs over.

Finally, I used a custom setting = 490 x 300

The size is 490 x 300, which is a custom setting size that looks about right.

I would suggest using this size for any embedded video.

And I didn't choose the video at random. Michael Sandel, a political philosopher at Harvard University, is a reliably brilliant and thought provoking lecturer; I also thought that what democracy needs is something in which you might be interested, it having been much discussed in Thailand of late.

  1. It is a bit small, but those who want the big version for a bit can click the full screen button.

  2. Towards the end of his talk, Sandel also makes a point that seems to me very relevant to the issue of respecting other people and their beliefs in the discussion that Book and I had on the morality of eating meat at "Opposing Stephen Law: final comments".
