Four's Academic interests.
I interested in Medical sciences because i graduated from faculty of nursing. In abroad, there are high technologies and knowledge that was researched which are very important and interested. especially in USA., a lot of students from other countries go to study there. In fact, Medical sciences are subjects that we can use for take care myself and other people. It's very impressive when I can help people safe from the physical or mental illness. Not only the patients but also their family would be happy when their beloved be safe. A smile is the most importance award that i need more than anythings.

It sound great to study in medical science, and I have a good friend who is nurse in taiwan. She study in the same subject abroad. She always give us many good information and tell us how to use those medicine carefully. It is a better way to keep people's healthy.
ReplyDeleteRight! I always give some health advice to my relatives, friends even my nurse friends! Actually, I wanna be a surgeon because I've been influenced by TV series "Grey's Anatomy" and doctor can help patients more. Even It seem to difficult, I'd try first and maybe I'll start when I am 30 yo. lol
DeleteI'm more interested in the science behind teh medicine, especially in neuro-science. Scientists today are making great progress in better understanding the human brain, which when combined with the work of psychologists and others might soon enable us to build machines that can truly think as well as we do.
ReplyDeleteAnd then much better than we do.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Health and what it is also interests me, and that's something we will be looking at next week when we read the second reading in chapter 6, "What Is Abnormal?"
DeleteWhat health is seems to me at least as difficult to define, even though it's something most of us talk about often.
So, what is health? What does the word health mean?
firstly, I think It's good idea to produce a machine which is clever and can think like human does because It's very convenience to have a assistance who can do in things that human body can't. For example, Brain surgical machine.
Deletesecondly, in terms of health meaning, According to WHO which defines that "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." and I agree with this definition but I think spiritual belief should be added in this too.
Health is the most important to our life. Everyone want to be healthy. Thai government has policy about national health care that assure Thai people to reach good medical services. I think medical science is very helpful. You are very kindness because people in medical sector work very hard to help people.
ReplyDeletePolitics again: should governments be taking some people's money and giving it to other people? This sounds very like stealing, so is free health care provided by the government with money robbed under threat of violence or kidnapping from some people just or unjust? Why?
DeleteCommunists think this sort of thing is just, but are they right? Should the Thai government be engaging in such communist acts?
I like Bass's response, which comments on several important issues. I woke up a bit late this morning, and as I'm having my morning coffee, I'm feeling a bit controversial.
DeleteI think governments should provide basic services of life but not all services. There are some basic services that governments must provide to their people such as health care, infrastructures and education. I think TAX is not stealing because I think if I have ability to pay TAX that means I get some opportunities from society, so I should pay it back too.
DeleteThank you Bass,
DeleteThat sounds like a pretty good justification for tax, one that means it's not stealing.
It also means that people who do not pay the full amount of tax, perhaps because their lawyers and accountants use the law to legally avoid tax, are morally wrong, even if they are not criminals. Right?
I also wonder what others think.
DeleteWhat are the "basic services of life" that governments must provide?
Are they just defence, police and courts, which are necessary for a state to exist, or more?
Must governments also provide health, education and other things? What? Why?
A nice discussion here.
You have a truly beautiful heart!
ReplyDeleteI always admire the people who devote themselves in helping people. This world want the people like you more.
I have a perception of nurse in Thailand that they are always moody but when I know you, I glad that there are some friendly nurse.
