Mozart effect

The song of Mozart is very famous in the world. Most of people believes that if they open Mozart's song to their children, the children will be more intelligent but are you sure, is it true?

According to "Does listening to Mozart really boost your brainpower?", regarding the Mozart effect, a lot of people believe that Mozart's song can help them be more intelligent, many people want to prove this effect. Finally, they can prove that this effect is not true, because there is no evidence to show that people will get more intelligent.

I have heard about the benefit of listening Mozart' song for a long time. Even if the article of BBC News show that Mozart's song does not help your brain be more intelligent, I still think that Mozart's song have many benefit for peoples. Actually, it is not only Mozart's song but also other music in the word. There are a lot of benefit of music and melodies. First, music help peoples feel more relaxant. Second, music fulfill peoples life. Sometime, music represent feeling of human and when peoples listen to the music, it is like the music answer that what they are. Third, music help peoples have more concentration. In this case, especially, playing the music, because when peoples learn to play a music instrument, they have to concentrate in their song too much and if they lose their conscious, the song might be stop. Fourth, music reduce Sadness. Many people listen to the music when they sad. The melody and lyrics can help their feel better.

  1. someone said that not only human who are get benefit by the music, but also the plants and the animals. In the farm, if you open the relaxing music to the cows, they produce a lot of milk. Even in the garden, if the trees is listening to the music, they will grow well and give you more products.

    1. I heard this when I was in secondary school, and I think it probably has been around ever since. But in the absence of any solid evidence, I'm pretty sure it is as false as the claims that the Mozart Effect makes babies more intelligent.

It's hard to see by what mechanism music could grow bigger tomatoes. Of course, if there were solid evidence that it did, then we might need to modify our theories of plant growth to account for that fact, but in the absence of any such demonstrated facts, I don't think we need worry.

And then there are those weird claims about pyramids, about souls, and the like - all totally without any solid evidence.

      I'm afraid I'm a bit sceptical.

    2. Listening to music can help children, who are 1-5 years old and their brains and perceptions are going to learn new things from their senses, develop their brains smarter and sooth them peaceful. In addition, this activity also helps plants growing up vividly and helps animals get high productivity.

When I was a high school student, I liked listening to music every morning and it helped me refresh my brain and mind. It's very helpful to get tranquil.

    3. I'm sorry, but I'm still being sceptical. Before I can believe that "this activity also helps plants growing up vividly," I want to see some solid evidence.

Where is the evidence? What reliable studies show this?

As Ong's chosen source says, the evidence seems to suggest that listening to music does not even increase the intelligence of babies or other humans beyond a possible short term boost in some areas. It seems most unlikely that it could affect the growth of plants.

  2. I like Ong's post because it reminds us of the importance of checking everything. And then checking again.
The Mozart Effect sounds plausible, and it was (is?) certainly attractive to parents, who tend to like the idea of their children being intelligent. But it's a false belief, like so many very popular beliefs.

  3. I don't know why I less listening to music when I grow older. I have heard about the wonderful effect of his song but I haven't listening to Mozart's song yet. So, I don't sure if it true about that claim. However, I believe that playing music help me a lot about power of concentration as you said. Playing drums kit need a great deal of concentration in order to keep tempo and to make a sound of each drums balance. Especially when record the music, I have to focus on part of song that I am going to play.

  4. In my opinion, the classical music like Mozart's song is not directly boost the brainpower but I believe that it can indirectly affect our brain since when people listen this kind of music their emotion are calm and it cause they use their brain more effective. I completely agree with you because I normally listen music to relax myself.

  5. I agree that playing music can help improve human's concentration but I do not think that it can reduce sadness in some case. If you listen to a sad song, it will not help you escape from your sadness.

  6. I think in each person get the benefit of music in difference way. for me I use it to escape from stress situation especially for K-Pop music. I love to watch a performance of K-Pop band on the stages, so powerful even I can't understand what they sang. I used to be a cover dance of GG with my friends, pretending I'm a soup star performing on the stage, all the light splash on me, funny I think. Next, I always get a motion sickness when I'm on the vehicle(except bicycle or Motorcycle)and I found out that when I listen to music it can help me relax and motion sickness never happen again.
