Pim's Academic interests
Before I came to Law School I was interest in humanities. When i have a free time I like to read books kind of novel and history. I always wonder about different culture, society and foreign languages. In my aspect people who can speak third language are very cool thus I hope I can be like them one day. Moreover, I think languages are very important in globalization.

Which cultures do you like reading about? Whose history interests you this week? As I mentioned in my reply toJack above, today I've been reading a recent book on politics, but the two Harvard Uni. authors not only include a lot of US history as support for their ideas, they also use Latin American and European political history.
ReplyDeleteWHen I was at university, my main history reading was of Chinese history, along with Greek and Roman history. I wasn't studying in the history department, but I studied those ancient languages, so it was important to learn the history as well. And as I mentioned in my reply to Na's blog post, one of my classes sometimes reads Plato, and that means we have to learn at least a little about ancient Greek history and society. It is, as you say, very interesting to learn about other cultures.
It's so cool, Pim. I agree with you and I also think those books encourage you to open your perspective and build you a good mindset. So I rarely read this kind of books even until now! Can you tell me some cultures in which you are interested?
