The battle for Thailand...

Today, I am frightened when a lot of red shirts drove along the street. The traffic is quite jam with the red. The article "The battle for Thailand" catch my interesting. In the article, the author mentions four possible ways of this situation ;however, I will discuss only three of them. First, the red shirts do enjoy considerable popular support, and not just in the poor north-east because the “Populism” policy from Thaksin' government benifit for those of prople. Second, whatever Mr Thaksin’s faults, his supporters have a point to defend his guity such as the current goverment is not democratic.Third, the political system has all but broken down, as the government itself tacitly admits when it argues that an election would not solve Thailand’s problems. Although there have a new election, the problem still exist. The PAD will not accept if Thaksin's nominee win the election or vice versa.

In my opinion, Thailand still cope with politic instability. The conflict between Thais still not solve because a large gap between Thai people and lack of education. Anyway, I pray for Thailand to be a peachful country soon.

  1. I agree with Earth that Thailand's main problem is a big gap of education level between Thais. Most people living in the upcountry lack of good education. How much do they know about politic? Do they really protest for democracy or they do because of someone or money? Why don't they think about the benefit of the whole country instead of themselves? So sad.

  2. I think the gap in financial status of Thai people is the ultimate problem. It's what Thaksinn invested in, his policies were to capture the poors' hearts. The government must pay attention to what Thaksinn did which please lots of poors and which is what the government's been missing. The poor may be lack of education and uneducated but they're not stupid, they know when the government try or not try to help them.
