This article remined me domestic violence problem in international married couples , the wives mostly came from south-east asia, in Korea.
Rahila Bano reports that many women came from South Asia are treated like as slave in Brtish home. They have to work inside the house and can not go out. In addtion, when they divorce, they will be deported, so many women do not report it.
Domestic problems are easily to be hidden, so it is difficult to reveal them if the victims don't say it loudly. Those women are minerity in British society. They probably came to UK with a dream that they would be able to make their own happiness. However, the reality is cruel. Even though, they are abused, they can not speak it in public, because they can't speak English well and they must be deported when they divorce. The situation is very unfavorable for the women. A few years ago, there were very similiar issues in Korea, wives came from South -east Asia were abused. Many reports suggested that this problem came from discrimination and misunderstanding of different culture in a family. There is a increasing of internation marriage in Korea, particularily in rural area becasue of surplus of male. According with this, domestic problems are getting increase, too. Many people worry that it will lead many scial problems.
