Hard drive evolution could hit Microsoft XP users

Nowsaday, people use more digital information than in the past.Digital information and content is found on everywhere. One of the hardware to store your videos, music and photographs is Hard drives. The aritcle "Hard drive evolution could hit Microsoft XP users" make me interesting because it mentioned that the new evolution of hard drives may cause a problem with windows XP.

According to article "Hard drive evolution could hit Microsoft XP users",Ward tells that "By early 2011 all hard drives will use an "advanced format" that changes how they go about saving the data people store on them". He mentions that in order to support the bigger storage, the advanced format will necessary to introduce for a reasons on energy efficiency and reliability of the hard drive. He points out that an advanced format of 4K sectors will give you twice as much space per block on your hard drive. Therefore,we can put more data on the disk. Unfortunately,Windows XP was released before the 4K format. However, new operating systems such as Windows 7, Vista, OS X Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and versions of the Linux kernel released after September 2009 are support this new format.

Although this new format will improve efficient of the data storage technology, I don't think the new format of hard disk will popular in a fews year. This is because windows XP ,which contribute more than half of computer users in the world, did not support this new format. Moreover, current economic situation make prople to cut back their expenditure to upgrade or buy new hardwares.
