Usually, people think that riding a bicycle has many goodness; helpful for clean air, can avoid traafic jam, so on. However, information of this article suggests different idea.
According to this article, "Beijingers get back on their bikes", Chieses government does not like increasing of electric bikes in Beijing, because they worries that it will cause noise problem and increasing of car. The writer said that government considered seriouly how to define electric bike to reduce sale of electric bikes.
I never visited Beijing, but I know that the city is very big. Almost big cities have a common problem; a terrible traffic jam. Many people try to find out how to avoid it, and how to get to work comfortably. Beijingers chose electric bikes. It has many goodness; it can run faster than normal bikes, it doesn't afect on air pollution, it can help people to get to work on time, so on. Acrually, I don't understand the reason why the government disagree with increasing of electric bikes in Beijing. There would be negative factors such as noise problem, influenece the flow of traffic. However, using of electric bikes has more positiveness than negativeness, if the government find out appropiate definition of electric bikes and set up a good guidline for using it.
