Internet safety is important to have on the web. You must apply safe techniques so you can be protected from viruses and online hackers. It's easy to get yourself into bad situations if you're not careful. Therefore, it's important to understand these things and to be careful when using the internet as you see in the article" Protect yourself on the internet " on the BBC news (2008).
Bill Westhead reports that how can we improve safety while using the internet, especially when we transact shopping online, banking online and so on, there are many risks that someone will steal your information such as your identity, account information and physical address, so we have to ensure that the security is strong enough before entering any personal details. Moreover, Bill Westhead suggested the tips to check the security of internet connection. For example, check a padlock item, SSL certificate of the site and the web address is prefixed by https://. Also we should use antivirus, firewall and anti-spyware to protect threats from internet.
Despite some unsafe internet aspects, the usage of internet has become something very common in this modern society and is needed for our daily life. If we had to live a day without the internet, the world would be chaotic and the global economy would fall gradually so the internet has influenced on mankind. There are many internet benefits that make out life more comfortable. For example, the internet allows people to exchange information with one another all over the world. It carries various information resources and services, such as electronic mail, online chat, file transfer and file sharing, online gaming, and other resources of the World Wide Web. Moreover, there are countless activities which one can do on the internet today’s such as visit to an art gallery, museum, browse through some advertisements and shops, banking or shopping online and read the newspapers published. Besides, one of the most popular website recently, named “Facebook”, also make social communication easy. With the existence of facebook, many tend to reunite with their old friends whom they had lost contact with and this brings them closer to one and another, also we are able to view their profile for their latest activities.
Although, the internet has many advantages, not forgetting the disadvantages which might cause problems to humankind but there are also solutions to overcome or prevent the problem caused by the internet.

ReplyDeleteThe internet becomes one part of our life. I remember how my life was in the past without using internet. It’s still enjoyable without internet but I can’t think about stop using it right now. I don’t know how I can do AEP homework without it, how can I Skype with my friend or do online shopping. Internet plays the strong role in our society. I agree that it also have the disadvantages part that we have to be careful. To illustrate, it’s not only leak of your important information but also it is the cause of crime as well. Some teenager is seduced by the stranger that they chat on the internet. The internet can make your life more comfortable but it’s also harmful for your life if you don’t pay attention when you use it.

ReplyDeleteI am really irritated by virus. Although I had installed anti-virus on my PC,somehow my PC was attacked by virus. If there were no virus in the world,I could enjoy PC life more. I suspect some of computer virus are scattered by companys which create anti-virus software.It might be a new kind of business.
