I have learnt the basic astronomy when I was in primary and high school. This makes me more interested in the space knowledge. I was amazed when I found out that the Earth is the only planet in the solar system that contains the living things which makes this planet very special. From that point, I started questions, if there are creatures on the Earth then why could not have the living things on other planets? The answer came up in my mind, it is not that there are no lives on the other parts of the space, it maybe just have not been found yet.
Space is full of mysterious things and enormous. There are millions more mysteries waiting for human to find out. Thinking that humankind, a small creature on the Earth, but has abilities to discover space and studies stars from billions miles away is very powerful. It is inspire me to dream high and believe in my abilities.
I'm also interested in astronomy. I like to watch to the sky when there is some phenomenon. It's really interesting. And for me, I'm really occupied - it don't let me go anywhere - when I searching for some information about it and find that there're still so many things we don't know. And I'm waiting for it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with you. So many planet in this universe, it must be somewhere else that is lived by some specie, or alien. I hope that one day we could find the other living thing in another planet. Until that time, technology must be developed much more. And I'm sure that there are many planets that is looking for us or they still stuck that only their planet in the universe. Moreover, scientist does not conclude that we are the only human specie in the universe. They are also looking for answer for us, so there must be one day.
Although, as I mentioned in my comment on Bo's post above, I was interested in the stories that inspired early astronomers to look at the stars and wonder what they were, I was not so fascinated by astronomy as I was by other sciences and by mathematics. But reading Pa's post and Melon's comment on it, I remembered that in my first years of high school, when I was around 12 - 14, I was also fascinated by the question of whether or not we were the only intelligent life in the universe. At that time, there a T series called Chariots of the Gods, based on the book of the same name by Erich von Daniken. He argued that the Egyptian pyramids and other ancient art and constructions, and stories, were evidence that the Earth had been visited by aliens thousands of years ago. This was a fascinating idea, although I soon realised that his "evidence" was extremely weak. I now think like Pa and Melon that there might be life, including intelligent life, elsewhere in the universe, but I'm pretty sure that there is zero evidence that any has ever visited our planet Earth. I do believe in UFOs, but that's because I think that there are lots of things that really are Unidentified objects that are seen by people.
ReplyDeleteAnd unidentified means exactly that: we don't know what they are. We certainly don't know that something unidentified is an alien space ship coming by to see how we are developing.
DeleteAnd your comment led me back to doubtfulness. Do we have a conclusion about how pyramids were made? I used to look for on the internet, and there are so many theory. It is interesting, as I like mystery.
DeleteHello Pa. I think we have something in common, we both interest in the mysterious of the universe. I always love to look at the big blue sky, dark night blue with sea of stars, or big bright moon in the midnight blue sky since I was a little child, astronomy is one of my desires and started to learn about that in my teenager time.
ReplyDeleteEven though sometimes I wondered ''Do we also have neighbours from the planet next door ?", "Do we have neghtbours from another galaxies?", "Do they gonna look like us?", "Do theywonder about us like we do?", etc and I hope we do have neibours living creatures that would but really fun, we could imagine that, but Like Peter said we have no evidence and yet to know.
