What I read
In "Muscle loss in old age linked to fewer nerve signals", researchers have discovered that muscles are likely to drop their functions when people are getting elderly that is because of poor nerves function. It is normally for old people to have muscle atrophy that affect to their daily life. It is proved by Prof. Jamie McPhee (2018), his research has showed that younger people have more nervous abilities and amount than elderly. Moreover, the research team from Manchester Metropolitan University worked with researchers from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, and the University of Manchester (2018), they utilized electric via the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) in order to note the number of muscles and nerves, and they have found that the healthy muscle could preserve and expand nerve branch to cease devastated nerves.

My response
The result show three beneficial facts to human even though some of that cannot be proved at the present, such as the link between age and muscle atrophy. First, the advantages from this research is healthy muscles can protect themselves and increasing nerve expansion. It seems that people who always work out and take care their health as well they tend to have strong muscles. Therefore, motivated people to exercise might help them when they are in aging stage in order to protect muscle weakness. Second, when they are not weak as their natural, they tend to have more inspiration to live. Generally, elderly are easily to have depression because their life styles have been changed during the long period of life. They usually think they have many organ impairments such as ears, eyes, limbs and activities, so that affect to their mind and self-esteem. For this reason, I can anticipate that elderly tend to have strong motivation to live and high life's quality. Lastly, I expect that this result will help to cure some diseases which are the cause of muscle weakness instead of medical administration.
I hope that scientists do not stop to find the method to improve this nerve conduction because this is the good signal to develop how to protect and sustain muscle when people are older.

My question
What is the result of MRI working through the nerve?

After I have read your article,I totally agree with this research. My grandfather also has some muscle problems as well. Even though, he was a tennis player last 60 years ago, and now he is around 90. If I compare his condition with his friends, he is far better than them and he is still able to walk by himself. As you said, If he hadn't exercise to maintain his good muscle when he was younger, he would have been worse and unable to walk. Moreover, when my grandfather walks by himself he feels happier than he walks with helping.
ReplyDeleteFor your question, The number of nerves and muscles is noted by MRI that I only know.
Although my father is fifty four year old but he can play many sport. My father also has many muscle. I think he is more fit than me. He still encourage me to do exercise. After he finish his job, he always do exercise regularly, for example, playing tennis, going to fitness center and jogging. My father said when he met his friends from his school, his friends look much older than him.
ReplyDeleteAccording to your question, they found that healthy muscle can be preserve and expand.
This explains why elders started to loose their muscle abilities when they getting older. After I read this article, I want to encourage my mom to start doing exercise. She is now fifty-nine years old and she rarely exercises. My mom still does some houseworks. I want her to stop because sometimes it is too much working, but she still does not want to hire any maids because she does not trust their abilities. In the other hand, My dad loves exercising. He usually goes running or bicycling every weekend and that makes him healthier.
ReplyDeleteFor your question, I guess that MRI shows the number of muscles and nerves by using electric?
