  • How does modern technology affect the way we learn and study?

  1. Things that I need with me to concentrate is a silence or a very soft music such as white noises, also some sweet cold drinks, which are my favorite.
I think it depends on the subject. Sometimes, I have a very good memory on one thing but very bad one on another. Overall, I might not have that goo memory.
In my opinion, modern technology has helped a lot at how we learn and study, it does make many things more convenient and easy to access on different sources of information, and also make the way of study more effective.

  2. If I like what I read or I am interested in it, I will concentrate on it. However, there is something that distracts me for example, I am worried about other things or argue with someone so I cannot concentrate and it will distract me to think about those topic. I think I have a good memory. It is good when I take exams. On the other hand, It might be not good when I am in love. For example, If a guy make me hurt a lot, I will not forget it easily. Modern technology can affect the way we learn a lot. These days we can learn everywhere where we can access to the internet and can learn what I want to learn through online courses. It saves time to commute to school actually and can learn whenever I want.

  3. I think the peaceful atmosphere can help me a lot without any noise, I can come up with my idea. The thing that always distract me is bad odor, hot weather and noise exactly.

It depends on my ability. For example, I am not good at match, so anything about match I cannot remember it. However, in my own major, such as Pharmacology and Pathophysilogy, I can remember it as well.

The modern technology affect directly to my studying. Mobile phone always be one of the most important factor to decrease my learning ability because I always check my LINE messages and E-mail every time. In contrast, it has advantages facts because I can study everywhere and every time also I can contact with teacher easily.

  4. The last question interested me the most, although all of them have some interest for me.

Depending on what I'm doing, I prefer silence or something that doesn't need attention. For example, if I'm planning work, it sometimes helps to have a silly American series that I've already watched playing. The sounds seems to drown out other distractions, and I can work OK without paying any attention to the background noise from the series, whcih has to be mindless and not too dramatic.

But if I'm doing something that needs a lot more concentration, silence is better, although if it really interests me, I can block out a lot.

I love technology. I'm not sure whether i remember less now because of it, but it's great having google in my hand to quickly check a fact I might have forgotten. When did Aristotle die again? Where was I seven years ago? How much is Thailand's projected GDP this year? I don't need to clutter my memory with these details, but I might want them. I do have a rough idea of when Aristotle died, but the exact year around 300 BC escapes me. And I know I was in Bangkok seven years ago, but again, a quick Google or my photos or FB or other records will give me much more accurate information. I have no idea what Thailand's projected GDP will be, but I'm sure Google can help.

  5. 1.I think the quite places is the most important thing for me and Eating too much and sleepy feeling is always distract me.
2.I think I have a good memory for something that I'm interested, but somethings that I'm not, I won't remember anything about that.
3.I think that technology affects our study so much such as an internet.
We and search anything in a minute. It doesn't an old time that we have to go to library and spend half and hour or more to do the same thing.

  6. 1. There are two things that help me concentrate. First, I can't study in hot weather. When I at home, I have to open air condition before I start study. Second, I like to open soft instrument music background while I study. I don't like to loud or too quite. Thing that distraction me the most is my mobile phone.
    2. I have a very bad memory at everything. Especially, when I have to remember to name of rivers or mountain.
    3. It has pro and con. Advantages of it is we can access to ton of sources through internet. Second, people who live far away in up contry can also learn through internet. Disadvantages is sometimes we do not know is the source is right or not because it is easy for everyone to post on internet.

  7. Things that help me concentrate is silence because I can be distracted easily with noises such as music, chatting and any kind of disturbing sounds. But sometime we can't run away from noises, so i decided to do a little bit meditation before starting to study.

I have quite good at memorizing thinks especially things that related to my profession like Biology books and those medicinal jargon. I have to admit that I am bad at math, so I have a hard time remembering numbers.

Modern technologies required multitasking skills to use. It have much of benefit but we can deny that it comes with drawbacks. For example, using smartphone every day will make us less concentrate on particular object. We go back and forth all the time, and can't concentrate at anything for long.

  8. Everyting distracts me!!! because I may be ADHD trait, which is disease that can easily loss concentration. However, I have never been diagnosed by doctor and I can survise from Thai education system. When I need to concentrate in some work, I have to leave myselft out of others that why I always go to library for working and stay with myself.

I don't have a good memory and always forget anything but in some topic that I am interested or I read/listen/talk in many time I can remember. It's like normal memory system of human brain.

Ipad and internet is help student to study better than the past because there are a lot of learning media to search and self-study.

  9. Music helps me concentrate on working. I don't listen to songs or enjoy their lyrics, but I need music to cover up other noises that distract me, like chatting, shouting, or even typing sound. However, music is also one thing distracting me. When an unfamiliar or new song comes up, I lose my concentration to see what the song is. To fix this problem, I set the music playing to play one song repeatedly. After trying this, I found that I didn't even mind what the song says. Just use it to cover other unpleasant noises.

My colleagues said I have a good memory that I can quickly spot and remember things they presented to me. I'm good at remembering pictures and patterns of something. If something is misplaced, I usually spot it. However, I'm really really bad at understanding numbers and math. I literally can't.

Technology helps me learn and study, especially on research. But it somehow distracts me as well. Mobile phone is my first enemy.
