What I read

Stephen Hawking: Black holes, making science cool and being funny  Stephen Hawking died peacefully at home aged 76. He famous for theories around black holes and the big bang theory. He helped popularise science because he take complicate agruement  and make accecessible to regular people. His books "A brief History of Time" has sold millions copies. Moreover, he is a campaigner. He was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at 22  had to rely on the NHS multiple times throughout his life. He was worried about the future of the health service, and with a group of campaigners was given permission to challenge a government health policy in the High Court.
"The more profit is extracted from the system, the more private monopolies grow and the more expensive healthcare becomes."The NHS must be preserved from commercial interests and protected from those who want to privatise it," he previously said.__________________________

My response

To be honest, I did not know about him until I watched movie "The Theory of everything". It's a bilography movie. After I watched I found that his life is very interesting. One thing I learn from  him is he never give up. Even he is weak, he has a strong mind. He can live longer than what his doctor prediction. Doctor told him that he might died before 30. He is a role model for everybody. We should admire about his brave. I think at first he knew about his illness he must be very suffer. Immagine one day that person wakes up and found  he cannot move his bodies and it was getting worst and worst. Our problems seems tiny compared to his problems.

Moreover, not only did he live, he also continued working as an scientist and made many useful finding, research, and promote campaign that benefit to us. He has a big heart and optimistic. Because he is very expert about science, I am so concern about an opinion about AI, the most popular topic everyone taking about. Along benefit of AI,  it is dangerous as well because it can learn anything by themselves, therefore one day it could generate their will themselves and we might not be able to control them. AI could be the best thing or worst thing ever and we don't know it yet.

  1. Ween's post was well-timed for my afternoon coffee. I've long admired Stephen Hawking, both for his brilliance and, as Ween reminds us, for his determination to continue living a productive life against all expectations.

But the point that I was most interested in was his warnings about AI. I'm in two minds about this. I agree with Hawking that at the rapid rate of evolution we are enabling, it won't be long before our machines are more intelligent and more capable than we are in every way. This does suggest that they might decide to put us out of our misery, but then I wonder what is it that makes us so wonderful that we should not be replaced by something better, just as we have replaced so many other species that we think are worth less than we are.

  2. It is so sad that our world lost the great physicist. It reminds me to the first time I read about him. I knew him when I was in medical school learning about motor neuron disease, He's the patient who suffered from severed disease but he never gave up his life.
His perseverance in his life is unimaginable. Although the doctor at his time told him that he could only live for 2 years, he battled the disease until 2018. From the patient diagnosed with severe disease to one of the most respected physicist at his age. He furthermore inspired other people to live and fight the ordeal like himself and that's the most thing I admire him other that his brilliant scientific works.

  3. I am appreciate him about his protection about health care cost. From my perspective, this topic is quite reputation. Also, your reflection to his notions is wonderful. His research has changed the whole world even though his body was morbidity, but he did not stop to create his ideas and improving whole world.

Even he has passed away now, but his all projects is recorded. I believe that all of them will be continued to develop our world.

  4. I heard his name for a long time since I was a high school student, but I have never read his book or watch his biography movie. After I heard his news, I intend to find his book to read and his movie to watch for learning his brave.
