However, Hartmann limits her discussion to a much narrower set of art, starting with the image of the painting above on the opening page of chapter 3, and we too can probably ignore the difficult question of what art is, even if we do not limit ourselves here to the traditional visual and sculpted forms of art that are the subject of chapter 3 of Quest (2007, p. 71 - 104).

ReplyDeleteAs i look in this picture i see one woman is waiting for the painter to paint a portrait of her. Which gives me a realistic feeling, eventhough some of you might not agree with me, but i think from those period of time work was created and how the real painter used a combination of lines and colors. It looks realistic to me. I think this ppicture is such a good art. it's fantastic, As i have said before, this art has a combination of colors which amazed me since i'm no good at putting colors in any king of drawing or painting. Also i think since this picture has colors it looks fresh and live by the vivid of the colors. I'm not a art historian but i still feel the fascination from this art work no matter when it was created i still think it's a good art and looks real, just the style the painter used is different from the popular styles painters use nowadays.
ReplyDeleteThe painting shows an artist working on a painting of the famous Van Gogh. It's a copy of a self-portrait by the artist, and copies of other famous works of modern art in different styles are also present, along with a traditional still life arrangement of food and drink on the table.
ReplyDeleteThe colours are warm and cheerful, and the lines look relaxed and playful. The artist seems to be having fun. Perhaps he wants us to see that art can also be fun, and that it's OK to reuse other people's ideas in fun ways.
I don't think it's great art, but it's enjoyable.
I think it is not a realistic painting. It is a picture of a artist painting a portrait. And there is a woman-like figure on the left of the picture.
ReplyDeleteI like the vivid color in this painting and a simply shape also. However, I dislike the confusion which I cannot tell that what the painter is trying to say.
For me, this is a good art.It's quite beautiful. The painter might use many different techniques to create this painting. There are harmony and contrast at the same time.
I have never seen this painting of Van Gogh before. I think everyone knows him because he is one of the most famous artist in the world and his works have influenced art a lot. But most people might familiar with his masterpiece which is painting of sunflowers. However, I think this artwork is very beautiful. It is quite colorful and the composition in this painting is very unique.
ReplyDeleteIn that picture, I see a lot of famous painters style in the same one. There are Vincent van Gogh style and also Picasso. They are not realistic but abstract way.

I'm not sure but I think it's not good art. It is genuinely incompatible to the other components. It may artistic merit still I don't like it.
1.In this picture, there's a woman in a beautiful dress and her face is divided into two parts; the white one and the yellow on. There's also the artist; probably a guy, turning his back to us, and painting. I think they're quite realistic, nothing is like a monster, there're just the people in the living room.

3.I think it's a good art, even the woman's face is not that real; who could have two-tone face?, but the whole structure is cool. It's colourful pic with the good details. I don't know whether it does have artistic merit or not, since I'm not the art person.
In the picture, I see the artist are painting his model. they're not realistic because of the distortion of the perspective and the way he use colors. I don't like this work, there're too many compositions in the picture and I prefer realistic art than this kind of modern art.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good arts, I think that the artist put some hints in the picture like why the women wear the mask or the meaning of the man portrait in the middle of picture.
In this picture, I see a girl is sitting for a man to paint her picture.
ReplyDeleteIt's not look realistic because the girl is sitting like a robot, her face don't have a shape like normal people. Moreover, many food on the table don't have any shadow; certain on the left side of the picture also don't have any movement which is unrealistic in my point of view.
It seems like the painter is painting by using woman to be a model.
ReplyDeleteIn this picture, I cannot understand why the woman's face has two color. It might have a definition but I cannot understand, so I dislike this point in the picture.
It maybe good for me to find out the explanation in this picture.
In the painting, I see one painter who is painting and one lady sitting who look bored. I don't think that it is realistic seeing that the lady's body is divided into two halves with uneven skin tone.
ReplyDeleteI don't like this painting due to its vivid colors. I personally don't like the colors which are too vivid.
However, I think its a good art. It conveys a message, so I think it has artistic merits. In my opinion, it's message is that the painter who might be the lady's friend or spouse should pay more attention on her so that the lady will not have to be this bored.
In this painting i see painter is painting women's portrait sitting in front of him.But i am not definitely sure if he is painting her portrait or not , because there is no clear image on his painting board. ReplyDeleteI don't really like this picture because I can't see the main dominance point of this picture. I mean there are many things in this picture that are dominant as a result of various bright colors.
I think it's not a good art as the same reason with my answer in the second paragraph.
At the picture, it is the painting Van Gogh by T.F. Chen. IT shows me about the man and the woman, but I don't know exactly about their relationship by action. They are a real person in that period.

this is good for art and another artist to admire it for skills that shown in this picture.
