My favourite among these pieces of art is the Cartier-Bresson photograph of a street scene in the small Italian town. I like the way the lines are organized to lead us into the image. From the first bit of bold fence in the foreground, the lines zig-zag, taking our attention through the street, over the roofs and into the distant mountains. These lines are repeated in the lines created by the strong, black dots of the figures. The content, a moment showing daily life in a traditional old town, with women going about their business and the bold inscription carved into the wall of what I guess is a church continue the themes of linearity and traditional life.
ReplyDeleteI like the painting by Laetitia next most, but I think the Rockwell is the most fun and entertaining.
I never like art, it's usually boring for me. But If I have to choose form the three above, I'll take Aquila by Henri Cartier-Bresson. This picture make a feeling of cold , lonely and peaceful.(I really need it in this couple of days) So relief.
ReplyDeleteI'm not interested in Art; painting, drawing,or coloring, so I have no idea about any pieces of art except for the famous Monaliza that caused a huge traffic jam in NY for a months; too many crown dying to see it.
"The Art Critic" is the one I like most because those characters in the picture looks alive. I like the way women in the portrait and the group of men on the wall look on the artist, they seems interesting what he is doing. The painter also put some hidden detail in the painting like the original photograph of the woman on the artist hand.
ReplyDeleteI like the last one the most. I know nothing about it but I like the tone and the way that the artist uses colors in this picture. The colors are very compatible with one another and it makes me feel comfortable when I am looking at this artwork. And I think it is like a kind of modern art. On the other hand, the first two picture is like an old style of art.
ReplyDeletei like the first piece of art the most. At my first sight i thought it was a photograph of one painter painting one portrait, but when i carefully look at it i found out that it's a painting, i was so amazed by how realistic it look. The way he paint the human as himself (maybe) looks so real. The movement of the body the painting hanging on the wall, the paper he used as a original portrait. All of those things make me want to look at this piece of art more and more. Eventhough i don't have any idea of who the painter is or any idea about when this art was created, i still like it and furthermore i will search for the information of this art later on.
ReplyDeleteI like the third picture "Street Scene" because when I look at the picture like this I can imagine what happen in that period of time. Sometimes it can tell you how the people in that area live together. For me, I prefer to learn more about the history by finding information such as picture and thinking about that time before I find more an evidence.
ReplyDeleteI prefer Street Scene to other pictures because it look more vivid and warmly than other pictures.
ReplyDeleteI like actions of many people in the picture. Especially, a women in the middle of the picture who is holding hand of two kids. They can remind me of my family and neighborhood and many thing that we did together.
I love the first piece "The Art Critic by Norman Rockwell" the most. It has a funny expression and using classic techniques at the same time. I also love the hidden message from the painting. I think it reflects the art critics obsess about the details and techniques instead of the feeling expression and the way of communication of the artist. Even the figures try to smile at him, he doesn't notice anyone but the detail of the painting under the magnifier.
ReplyDeleteI like the second picture, Aquila degli Abruzi. This is a black and white street view, which is looked like a photograph. I like it because is make me feel calm by using only basic color, black and white. And in the picture, there are not too many people. The composition is good, there are group of people in the front, the middle and the back of the picture. And there are not only women, but children also. The architectures in this picture make me interested as well as the scenery of a mountain at the top left. this is 3 dimensions picture, things are not on the same distances.
ReplyDeleteI like The Art Critic by Norman Rockwell. The reason is that I think its light and shadow are perfect and the color too are well used. This can be seen on the wall, floor, painting and even the critic's neck and trousers. Rockwell drew this realistic picture very well, as he didn't forget to include small details.Another reason is that the critic 's body posture and gesture is very natural. All of us would do that posture to if we were the critic. The last reason is that the critic's face expression is very well drawn. It tells that he is fascinated by the details of the lady's necklace.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the last piece of art. In this picture i can see people's daily routine, how they live their lives . Moreover it shows us that each of them is doing different things ,so we can see that everyone has own life but at the same time i consider how we deal with other people being so close at same environment.
ReplyDeleteI like "The Art Critic by Norman Rockwell, 1955" the most because it enables me to become interested. I believe you can get many aspects from this picture. For me, I feel like the artist drawing and painting this picture want to criticize people in that era that they love to be a great look on something that can replace them such as pictures or photos. Secondly, I think that artists in that age like to make something update. For example, perhaps, the woman in this picture has just wear a neglect recently, so the artist have to draw a neglect to make this picture become more realistic.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, I am able to see the artist's clothes in that era. That makes me know some cultures at that time.
I prefer the first art, The Art Critic by Norman Rockwell in 1955, the most. I used to see all of these pictures before, but unluckily I forgot their details.
ReplyDeleteThe reason why I like the art by Rockwell is that this art look creative and is presented interestingly. Whilst the guy is looking at the hi-class woman in the picture, there are some other hi-class man in the picture who express their face with negative responses. Plus, the guy is being interested in something on her neck. Maybe, it is to check how different it is from the picture in his book on his left hand.
It can be noticed that the woman in the picture also gives the response via her face to that guy. This make this painting look more attractive. Even the pictures in the painting seem alive too.
I like the picture "Aquila degli Abruzi" I like black and withe photo, and we can see and imagine their life style in it. and this structure is unique.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is the one I like most because in the picture shows the realistic of the living way of some path by using color and the line as real, I see and feel something real in this picture both people movement and atmosphere in there. It is look classic.
ReplyDeletesomething same in, these picture are told the story of people in that period.
I like the second picture, "Aquila degli Abruzi." because it's used only two colors black and white which are I like and it give a comfortable feeling of a daily activities. It look very classical. It give some ideas about the people traditional clothing and architecture of houses.
