My Yes/No question is:,
Is a driverless car good?

My answer is:
No, it isn't.

Firstly, I think this idea is good for human daily life because they can do many activities while sitting in their own car which go to the office but nowadays, we prefer to travel without traffic jam. For me, this idea will provide the number of cars on the road because one who cannot drive can has own car and drive anywhere. However, it maybe useful if you must have driving license even though you have a driverless car.

  1. Thank you Ming for the reminder of how quickly this is becoming a reality. I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure that the streets will be much better in every way when machines, not humans, are doing the driving: they will be cleaner, quieter, less polluted and of course, much, much safer. Google's driverless cars have much better driving records than human beings, who are prone to emotional decision making, anger, sleepiness, pure bad driving, drugs, stressful families, and lots of other things that make them bad drivers.

I have not driven a car since I was in my twenties, and I don't miss it at all. I like the idea of large fleets of cheap driverless taxis zipping me around wherever I want to go. No more taxi drivers - that sounds a good thing, too, although taxi drivers might feel differently.

  2. Yes, it is because drivers don't have to drive by themselves. Although they shouldn't do something, such as reading books or writing essays as these act enable you to have eyes' problem, you are able to communicate with other people in your car.

Regarding traffic jams, you are afraid that many people will drive the driveless cars and this act makes traffic jam. Yet, I believe that these cars will be very expensive because they have some new and modern technology and expense for creativity. Therefore, there are few people that can drive these cars and creating these cars slightly affects to traffic jams.

  3. Yes, it is. I like the way cars can drive itself because sometime when I drive a car it's make me backache very much because I need to sit in the same position for a long time.

Moreover, sometime I sleepy when I drive which is very dangerous. That's why, I think that driveless may be able to make my life safer when I need to drive while I'm sleepy.

  4. I don't think it's a good idea. Technology always plays an important roles in being parts of new machines, the self-driving cars sound so wonderful in theory but in real life i don't think it's going to worth a try. For instance, roads are not straight and there are going to be a loads of cars too which you can't guess when they're going to be breaked. What if he car we're following accidentally hit the break, would self-driving car stop there immediately? If not (which I think it's not going to some at the moment too) then how can it reduces accidents.

  5. I think it has both advantages and disadvantages for having driverless cars. But it's quite a good idea in the way that it may decrease number of car accident because I think that the car drove by computer program that is accurately invented will be safer than the car drove by human. As sometimes human can easily get distracted or lost carelessness, so accident can happen any time. However, I agree with you that it will increase number of cars on the road which is one of the disadvantages of having driverless cars.

  6. I like the idea of driverless can. I am the one who have a driving licence but I cannot drive. I will be better if I just sit in the car and let it drive by itself. However, I agree with you that this might cause more traffic jam. And I am not sure that it can drive safely. It may drive break too early, so the following car might not have enough time to touch the break.

  7. I couldn’t agree more with Peter’s comment and others’. So, I have no new idea to add here to support that I want driverless cars. Hope they’re used soon.

But I might leave what would be the problem for such cars.
This doesn’t mean that automatic cars without drivers is not good; instead, I would like see the below main problems solved to assure that driverless cars will have replaced the traditional ones recently.

    1. The problem about safety and security in case of emergency like terrorism.

    2. The problem about correct understanding for people in using this kind of car appropriately, especially for new laws regarding driverless car and new traffic laws.
