However, other people vote him because of these policies, such as Anzel Deschanel.

My Yes/No question is:
Do you drink alcohol?

My answer is:
Yes, I do, but I'm not an addict.

When I was born until 17 years old, I wasn't interested in any alcohol because my father told me it had not been good time for you to drink this. But, I tried drinking it when I was 15 years old. At that time, I thought it was disgusting and I also much preferred milk or hot chocolate to beer and whisky.

By the way, 3 month ago, I went to a party with my pals at OliveKeeper Pub & Restaurant on Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road. Definitely, I drank one cup of Black Label Whisky and I also talked with my buddies about anything we could remember in the past. For example, my friend Mic said to me that he had used to get 3.5 in physics when he had studied in grade 11. After he had told me about his grade, I was very surprised as he was one of four students in my classroom who attained a physics certificate when he graduated from Assumption College.

Furthermore, on 15th April, I went to a party at Wipe Out Ibiza RCA near Central Plaza Grand Rama 9 with lots of my friends. Honestly, my main purpose were drinking Blend 285 Whisky and dancing with any acts I desire. Actually, I became a little bit boozy, yet I reminded myself that I mustn't be drunk because my father told me I mustn't sleep on a footpath like dogs, this act had been very pitiful. I felt very fun that night although I had to paid approximately 1,000 baht for a ticket, foods and drinks.

I think some people disagree my act because they believe that there are many disadvantages to drink alcohol. Firstly, if you drink a lot, you will have high percentage to get many severe diseases, such as stroke, atrophy of the brain and cirrhosis. And, all of these maladies are tough to be treated. Secondly, you have to waste lots of money on something foolish. some people told me that I should save my money for your wonderful future instead of paying on whiskies.

Yeah, in the past, I had the same thought like them. Therefore, I talked to my father about alcohol and then he said that alcohol had enabled you to have a good relationship amongst mates. In Addition, it's hard for you to drink alcohol when you are an adult because you have to spend lots of time working and taking care of your family instead of traveling and going to parties with your friends.
Hence, if you don't drink it now, you may don't have enough chances to drink it.

After I had listen to my father's speech, I thought I understood what my father want me to do. How about you? In your opinion, what do you think about alcohol?

  1. I drink alcohol. But only on social meetings. As I have been to America, I wanted to say that the idea of Pub in Thailand and in America is so much different. In Thailand people are insanely drunk from drinking too much alcohol that they won't be able to take themselves home. But from what i have experienced in the states, my friends usually drink alcohol after tests such as finals or midterms which we call that "After Test Party" and i would drink too because it would be rude among your friends if you refuse to take a shot when they handed you. So I usually take one shot then no more, to me alcohol has such a terrible taste and take too long for me to be able to swallow them in my throat. I don't get how can those guys drink alcohol so much at parties. I used to tried both whiskey and beer. In the states people prefer beer to whisky and usually hang out or chill with some mates by carrying one bottle of beer for each then just talk sitting outside drinking beer and laugh at jokes they make. I think it's still not bad if you only drink alcohol for social occasion. But if you're one of those who are addicted to alcohol, there's no fun then.

    1. I don't like whisky or beer either, so I never drink them. But I love wine (usually red) and cognac. Maybe it's because of my Italian heritage.

Almost the first thing that my great-grandparents did on arriving in Australia was to plant the grape cuttings that they had brought with them from Italy. My family still has plants from that same stock. The grapes are not very good to eat, but they make decent wine. However, I prefer more professionally made wines to the home made family brews. Thankfully, my family agrees and have pretty much stopped making wine.

    2. Talking about a taste of alc. I love cocktail and whisky. And I also love tequila and its cocktail so much. I indulge myself on my birthday with the long black tea in a small blues pub near Khao-San. The drink totally looks like a glass of iced tea, especially with a squeez of lime and its peel in the glass. But it is very strong. Oh my god! Even I knew it's strong before sipping because another customer has warned me. I tried to sip slowly. Sorry! that didn't help. I felt numbed after only one third. Luckily, I was not drunk badly and went back home safely. Hooray!

I've tried the wine many time but my taste is very bad. I always like the label which wine lovers tell it's not quite good. They adore the sophisticated taste which I don't understand much. I've tried the wine class and tasting seriously once or twice but it didn't improve my taste so much. How poor I am.

    3. I'm okay with beer but not with whisky. I think the tatse is too much for me to contain and tequila i don't drink it so much, but i used to take it a lot when i was playing a game with my friends. The rule was that the loser should take one shot of tequila at a time, and guess what i lost almost every time they played. At first i thought i doesn't taste too bad but when you take too many shots, it started to taste like hell.

    4. @Nan, Thank you for your experience in US. But, I wonder if your American friends hand more shot of whisky to you, I will still drink or refuse your friends.

a game you played with your pals quite like e kae kin nam, yet it's more harder LOL.

    5. To Teacher Peter, your comment let me want to taste wine your family brews although you tell me that you like professional made wines more than that.

Thanks for your word cognac, that makes me remind to search more information in the internet.

    6. @Union, That sounds interesting that your loves are same to mine. Talking about long black tea you refer, when I read your comment and I find "I tried to sip slowly. Sorry! that didn't help." This sentence makes me laugh while perusing LOL.

Indeed, I remember that last time I drank wine about three years ago. Be similar with you, it was terrible. Yet, I still wait for chances to drink it again. I wish it would be better than before.

  3. My answer is no. I did drink alcohol when my friends ask me to try and, honestly, it tasted like hell. It also stang my throat. Thus, I never consider drinking it again. I agree with you that alcohol will probably help you get along with your friends more easily. However, you can unconsciously reveal your personal issues, so you might want to be really careful when drinking alcohol.

    1. Thanks for your suggestion, I agree with you that it taste like hell, yet I don't know why I want to drink it when I go to party with my buddies. Perhaps, fun parties can beat a taste of alcohol.

  4. I drink alcohols but not so often. Most of time, I drink alcohols when I am very tired. It helps me to sleep well. Sometimes, I drink them with family or friends to communicate each other or celebrate something happen. I like this communication through drinking alcohols because I can find something new about friends and family.

  5. Although I've just confessed in my reply to Nan's comment above that I enjoy some types of the drug alcohol, I also have to admit that this very popular drug of addiction is much more harmful than most of the illegal drugs that I don't use.

A famous study published in The Lancet a few years ago (and picked up in The Economist) upset many people when the experts on drugs and drug harms to users and society rated various addictive drugs for the harm they cause to individual users and to society. If you have a look, you will see that in fact alcohol is the most harmful drug overall, worse even than heroin and yaa baa. Facts like this make it very hard for rational people to respect drug laws that seem made up to wilfully ignore the evidence and enforce personal prejudices on an entire society.

And alcohol isn't just a little worse than heroin and yaa baa: it's much worse as an addictive drug.

    1. Perhaps, it's hard to addict alcohol as you have limits how many shots you can drink before being drunk. Yet, if you are addict alcohol and then you are always a drunken person, results that affect yourself and society are probably as severe as heroin and yaa baa. Definitely, you can see lots of news about quarrels among drunken people and death of some people in that incident. That sounds bad!

  6. No, I don't like it. When I was a little about 13 year old, I used to taste beer and its taste was so bitter for me. Since then, I have never drank all kind of alcohol because I think, they are all same taste that is bitter.

Actually, I want to know, that alcohol makes people happy and forget a sadness during drinking, is it true?

    1. Perhaps, to know and get new experience, I recommend you to try drinking various kinds of alcohol such as vodka, whisky or wine. May be you find some drinks you like.

Regarding your question, I believe drunken people forget sadness as they lose their consciousness. For example, my biological teacher told me she used to have a boyfriend and then when he broke up with her, she felt very sad. So, she drank lots of whiskies in her bedroom. Definitely, she lost her consciousness and throw many things away. When she woke up in the morning, she felt more sadder than before. Since then, she has realized that she won't drink alcohol to allow her to forget sadness anymore.

  7. Yes, I do but I started later than you. When I was in a high school, I didn't experience it seriously. My family didn't strict too much about them. They let me try a small sip of beer since I was a child. I didn't like its taste. I'd tried seriously when I was a sophomore. I think it's better because I think it made my brain function dropped a little. If I had tried since young teenage, my brain may have dropped worse than today!

I really like your father teach you to become a gentlemen. To use them wisely. They have both side. It's better to use them thoughtfully than to see them as a evil.

Your story make me think about the days in my school. I can't imagine if I had tried them. Then, what would my life be today? Do I become closer to my friend? What my career would be if I admit to the different faculty? I think my life would totally changed from today.

I really would like to thank you for sharing this story. It make me remember the day when I was a student. And it also give me some day dreaming even in the late night. :)

    1. I fairly doubt your question: " What my career would be if I admit to the different faculty?" I think this question doesn't relate to drinking alcohol.

May be if you had drunk alcohol when you were a teenager, drinking it mightn't have changed anything in your life. In contrast, you may get some experience that affect your future. (not only negative ways, but positive ways as well)

  8. Yes, I did but I haven't drunk any alcohol for many years. At that time, I went camping with my friends and one of the best moment was when we drank and talked at night. I think alcohol made conversation more effective. When we drank alcohol, we thought less and spoke what we actually thought.

I believe that everyone should try some alcohol, especially women, in order to protect yourself. If you know it taste, no one can trick you. And you should know how much you can drink to prepare yourself when you cannot refuse to drink.

    1. I quite agree with your idea. My dad also taught me to drink at first in order to know my limit towards alcohol so i can use that to protect myself when i'm on my own in the US. Some people might think it's not important but from my experience, i think it helped me.

    2. "we spoke what we actually thought." I love this comment very much, Wan. it's one of the benefits of alcohol for me. Moreover, It's fun that may be, you talk something blunt (perhaps both positive and negative ways, so you have to be carefully.)

  9. Yes, I do because of my social value. I graduated in engineering and many people told me engineer like to drink alcohol so I decided to follow this value. However, one thing that bear in my mind is I haven't to get drunk if I want to drive.

Ps. if you want to drink, feel free to ask me do it with you :)

    1. Yeah, I partly agree with you. I want to change your word like to should because some majors of engineers have to work with workers, and most of them love alcohol. So, perhaps you should occasionally drink alcohol with them to make a good relationship.

I like your PS. so much LOL.

  10. I sometimes drink it with my friends but I've never got drunk. My favorite drinks are Bacardi and cocktail, they're tasty and quite easy to drink this type of alcohol. However, the more tasty, the more dangerous, many women get drunk because they are unaware and drink over their limitation.

    1. I believe many women, especially my friends like Bacardi and cocktail as some women told me that they are more palatable than other alcohol like whiskies or beer. Surely, may be you should be more carefully too!

  11. I used to drink alcohol not because of my preference or desire, but a peer pressure. But, I don’t want to drink alcohol anymore except for some beneficial reasons such as for keeping body warm when living abroad and so on.

Everyone has a good reason to keep drinking alcohol. Unfortunately, I am not good at finding satisfying reasons to drink it.

I am convinced that whether we drink or do not drink is not important. We all should have rights to control our lives. And in fact our thoughts and attitude should not be dominated by social values and trends as well.

If you have good, proper reasons to drink or not to drink, you can make your own choice in the way that you want. Needless to say, you’re what you eat.

  12. I have some friends who don't drink alcohol, so that I have never forced them to drink with me. I couldn't agree more with you that each person has his own reasonable ideas or thought.
