In "School lunch rules 'too strict' ", BBC news report that the nutritional guidelines will use in England's secondary schools. The guidelines involve 14 nutrient-based standards such as no less than 7.5g protein and 5.2mg iron. The guidelines on vitamins and minerals are so restrictive. If uses this rule, the pupils will receive balanced menu and healthier. Neil Porter, LACA chairman, says "If the government is serious about the importance of school food in altering young people's eating habits and its contribution to reducing levels of obesity then it should act now," but now, this rule can not be use.

I think this rule is O.K. but it have to good taste.

What do you think about A.U.A canteen? What would you like to improve?

  1. I'm not agree with Neil Porter, LACA chairman say the government should be serious about school food by student eating habit. i think a person that must be serious about healthy or unhearlthy is "chef".( I think we're know the food at AUA very well. Is it right?)At AUA canteen sometime they put too much oil on food that can made food look more fresh, but the oil is a main problem which can make people get in to obesity easiness. so i think AUA need to improvement about this thing.

  2. I don't think the rule is not strict considering in the future. When the students are older, there could be a lot of deseases caused by unhealthy eating habits. I'm not sure there are nutritionists in England. I think they play a important role in a healthy eating habit.
AUA canteen is not too bad, because there are various items and I can select lunch according to the mood of the moment. Food in AUA is oily for me, so I want to eat ungreasy food.

  3. It's good rule. Before I don't care much about the nutrient, but now I started to care about that. For the food in AUA canteen, I think...not too bad, but it doesn't mean good.

  4. In my opinion, everywhere of canteen will should to have food standard such as clean food good taste. I think AUA’s canteen have food standard well but sometime not well because they use too much oil in food .That most important, food seller don’t take care customer and don’t smile when everyone come to buy food. I think , this is a reason I would like to AUA’s canteen most improve.

  5. In my opinion, I agree with Neil Porter, LACA chairman because student should aware about healthy diet. The child growth depent on excercise, learning and nutient food. The child don't think useful of food so somebody don't grow up complete or somebody become obesity which there are many fat child in the present. We teach them what is suitabel for children. For AUA canteen is so so taste but it cost expensive. The should improve about price and quality of food. For me it's less than outside and more expensive.

  6. What a great choice of topic, and it's clearly popular with others.
I especially like the way May related her summary to AUA! That was a very effective way of making it relevant to us.
