NewScientist: Fears over 'designer' babies leave children suffering

Michael Le Page address on his article in NewScientist that many children died because of numerous genetic disorders, even through modern medical can detect and cure them by the “IVF with pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (IVF-PGD)” technology. Nevertheless, many parents do not take a treatment, because they still believe that their children's genes are inherited as taboo; people should not change them.

As you know I'm Buddhist ,so I believe that every thing are depended on kama. In this case, children who are born with diseases or disable are affected previous-life's kama. I, however, agree that if medical technology can cure genetic disorders, it had better to do, although it have to change some genes.

My summary is very short since the source is. What do you think? To modify human gene is agreeable?
