Punctuality is important in Japan

Punctuality is important in Japan. If you don't come on time, you are considered an unreliable person. In business situation, If you are late on the appointment, you are supposed to call and explain the reason. You should arrive five minutes ahead of time. Being late makes us feel worse and your impression is also bad. If it is a first meeting, it is difficult to correct the feeling. If you are late for school, you have to feel sorry to join the class. A lot of people think interrupting others is extreamly rude. The appearance of mobile telephone has dramatically changed among friends. Even if you come late, you can contacrt with your friends with mobile. We don't think you are rude any more because you imform us to be late. We don't care what we make friend wait.
