  1. Actually, I have not found any fear that is strong enough to be called as phobia right now, but things that I am strongly afraid of is cockroach, especially the big one. Cockroach is a kind of insects. I've seen it since I was young, but I've just realized that I am afraid of it not long time ago. How I deal with this fear is very simple, just be as far as I can. If I see cockroach, I will not go near it, and that's all.

    1. I'm not afraid of it too but most of my friends who are fear of this kind of animal told me that they aren't afraid of cockroach if it couldn't fly.

  2. I used to be quite embarrassed by one of my phobias, in fact, I think it's my only phobia. Snakes are OK for me - if I know they aren't dangerous, I can happily pick them up and let them slither around me.

But frogs are a different issue: yes, I'm batrachophobic. When did my batrachophobia begin? I'm not sure, but it was there as long as I can remember. This was a problem for me for several reasons. First, there were a lot of frogs around my family home in the country: it's a beautiful are surrounded by a river and with plenty of virgin bush still there. With a warm climate, the conditions were ideal for frogs. And I was terrified of them. If there was a frog on the path, I would go off the path to avoid it. This was a major problem if I was with a school mate: I did not want anyone to know of my ridiculous fear of frogs. This really was, and is, a phobia - totally irrational, I know they are not a threat, and yet my heart races, my skin sweats and I generally react with panic in the presence of a perfectly harmless little creature.

Oddly, if they are cooked up, I can eat them.

    1. Conversely, I cannot eat frog, I think that it's really yucky. But I can catch it(only a small one). I think I'm not afraid of little frog because I see it often. When I was young, I liked to play outside the house while it was raining. In my garden, there were a lot of little frogs and tadpoles near puddles. So, catching little frog is one of my game to play with my neighbor and my younger brother.

    1. I loved Anaconda. I don't think it was in any way a great movie: it's a very silly story with not very credible people, but it was fun. There was a sequel that was truly awful. I think my favourite scene was the under water shot of the snake gliding past the boat just after swallowing one of the guys and we saw him outlined in his belly.

But I think this movie must be getting old now. When did it come out?

    1. I have been bitten a few times, but only be snakes I knew were not poisonous, and mainly because I was careless at feeding time. Pythons can't see very well, so if you wave a mouse-smelling hand in front of them, they tend to lunge at it.

As I wrote in one of my comments this morning, one of my sisters had a more serious snake bite that could have killed her had she not got prompt treatment to remove and then counter the poison. She later went looking for more snakes to kill!

  7. I afraid of blood and seeing dead body. I can see it but it would be better not to look at. Actually, I don't know that I supposed to call it fear or not. I just think it is an unpleasant feeling and I don't want to have that. My first experience with it was when my father was driving and suddenly he hit a dog. At that time I just turned my face away and ignored the dead dog. And when this kind of situation happen, I always ignore it.

  10. I'm afraid of geckos especially big geckos. I think that my first fear of these occurred when I was a child. I'm afraid of this kind of animal because their red spots contrasting with their grey skins make me feel disgusting and fear of them. I deal with this fear by looking for them carefully when I go to somewhere that I'm not used to be especially when I go to visit my grandfather in countryside and avoiding to stay near them .

  11. I'm afraid of height. I can't remember when did I come to have this fear. Even now, it's still mystery because I used to play roller coasters without any problems at all. Now when I have a chance to go attraction park, I try to challenge myself to ride one. Most experiences now are not that pleasurable but it's not entirely bad. I didn't enjoy the ride like I used to be. I always just sit still, no screaming, and sometimes I've to close my eyes until the ride is finished. Even I know that I'm not gonna fall from the ride, there's a fear inside me that make me unconsciously grab the safety bar tight and firm.

    2. You can't edit comments.
I usually don't worry about my mistakes in comments. If they really are serious, like when I accidentally omit the word not, I do what you have done: add a new comment to point out the mistake and correct any possibly misunderstanding.

  13. As far as I'm concern, sometimes I am afraid of high places; however, I can still go up to the buildings or elevators. From my experience, when I stood on the high building and look down to the ground, sometime my leg vibrated and my heart had usual pace; nevertheless, I stood for a while, the symptom disappeared and I could stand on there for a long time. Therefore,it may not be my fear but whoever stood on something that may be dangerous is little worried and aware of it. However, some person who is afraid of high places cannot stand or go up to high buildings or use elevators anymore.

  14. I'm always afraid of a one-string creature, you know like worms, leeches or centipedes because in the past I ate a worm that have mixed in with the noodle which is my lunch meal and furthermore it is still alive and moved inside my mouth, I felt horrible and disgusted by it since then, whenever i see something like worm i always keep my distance from it and never have a thought to touch it even for second, but frankly enough i don't have any problem with snake except the venomous one which is common feared by normal people. One time when i was a kid this fear of mine was found out by one of my old friend and he always tease me all the time with it.
