According to the BBC News "Honda and Daihatsu recall more cars over Takata airbags" (2015), it is reported that many Japanese car maker companies like Honda, Daihatsu, Toyota and Nissan recently recall about 11.5 million cars which were installed with Takata company's airbags because these airbags "were not properly sealed and could be damaged by moisture.", and they have caused 6 deadly Honda car accidents so far.
I once experienced car accident when I was young but it's not a big deal, just a car crash in a rainy day, and at that time i sat in the back seat so it had nothing to do with airbags. However, I still think that airbag is one of the important parts in our car since it helps us hit less impaction.
But I do know some drawbacks of airbags that it just decreases seriousness of accidents but you still get wounded. In addition, if you are unlucky enough to own a car with a problem airbag like those victims in the article, That means airbags are not safe for you anymore.
Anyway, I think the factor that causes most of the car accident in this world is not non quality airbags but it's the simple thing that sometimes you overlook--YOUR recklessness. So be careful whenever you are on the driver's seat.

When I was young and I knew car has air bag. I asked my father that how air bag saved us if we were in car crash? How we breathe if it explode in our face? Because, I like to sit in the front seat beside driver seat very much, so I wonder that. Then, my father told me that it explode like inflated balloon just few second to protect our body from strong impact after that it will deflate.

I was in a car crash 2 years ago, it might be my lucky that air bag did not explode at that time.
yeah i used to think that it can completely protect our lives. it may be a luck that i cant drive.
DeleteMe too, when I was young ,my families got car accident too but the car didn't have an airbag so when we bought a new car, my dad always check everything in the car,especially airbag. However, we shouldn't careless and don't drink alcohol when drive because this is the most causes that lead to get accident.

DeleteI think airbag is important thing for a car but it is not the most. their are many ways to protect ourselves for car accident. For example, fasten seat belt, don't drink before drive, don't drive when you feel sleepy, all of these are the important way. The more caution you have, the more safety you get.

DeleteI heard that safety airbag work by add gas in bag when it has accident, it work in one second to protective driver. Then it hit so hard and hurt someone who sit in those position. I thought it is dangerous as well as another car crash. We should drive slowly and carefully.

DeleteEven though we're careful, sometimes other drivers aren't, especially in some cases where truck drivers got a fatigue from all-day driving. How long those drivers can drive a day should be regulated and also there should be a punishment to their employers who do not abide by this law.

yeah that's true. sometimes it's not our faults per se. Tanaka is a Japanese airbag companies that manufacture airbags for many car companies. How can u think it's from book? XD
DeleteAfter I read this article. Even if airbags might be the one factor of car accident. For me,It is not a big deal. as long as you drive carefully and safety, you are still fine and have no trouble.
ReplyDeleteI think we better concern about drive without drinking alcohol, wear a seat belt everytime you drive, and don't drive over the speed limit.
Frankly speak, I hate Thai Laws and Thai court of justice indeed because they always support and help rich people even if they are completely wrong.
According to a few years ago, it had a terribly car accident on the expressway, in that time an 18 years old girl who were a rich kid and a cruel driver, she drove so fast and then killed 19 bodies on the van. That's so sad story and also unfair story. Because of Thai Attorney-General did not give her a life sentence for murdering 19 bodies by reckless driving. She is bailed out and is under probation and do public service. Actually, she deserves life sentence.
So, you guys think is it fair for the dead? Do you think she should be released?
I had a similar thought when I read "85 illegal migrants held in Samut Prakan" (Chayutworakan, 2015) in the Bangkok Post just a few minutes ago. If the police are holding 85 illegal immigrants in custody, are they also holding in custody the executives of the company who knowingly employed them all? Or are the company executives out enjoying their more luxurious lifestyles with the families and so on, whilst their exploited workers suffer more misery?

DeleteI think airbag is an important thing that every cars should be provided. Most accidents is safe because of airbag. When people have an accident, the airbag will autonomically release near the people. They may get less wound that make them survive.
