Severe and Unique Virus Computer

As we know, they are many viruses computer on our internet network and also many anti-virus programs, yet do you think that every virus always has the software that could detect and delete it ?

According to the article "Self-destructing virus kills off PCs" (2015) from BBC News Technology, The computer specialists have just found a virus computer named Rombertik that can steal and delete substantial information like most viruses and tries to avoid detection by making the computer not be able to use.

At the moment I read this news, I feel very amazing and also worried at the same time because I'm thinking about what is going to happen if there are many severe viruses like this spread on our internet network. It means that whoever's computer has a chance to get infected with this harmful viruses equally. That sounds terrible.

This news makes me think about some online space like dropbox and one drive that could make my important files safe from malware as well as virus. Moreover, you can reach to your file whenever and wherever you want and you can also reach to your file by using smartphone while you are on the BTS or something like that. It's a comfortable one. Therefore, I think it is a good idea to store data in these kinds of storage.

Now, I'm thinking in advance about the near future when we run every system by computer software as we see in cartoon and also movie such as electricity, water, traffic light system, transportation system and many things, I couldn't imagine what will happen if every system that linked together in a network was totally infected or controlled and failed. We have to focus on the safety of the software as the most important issue. Prevention is always better and easier than cure.

  1. I agree with you that saving files on cloud storage keeps them safe from virus and malware. But if your files are very important and personal, I'm pretty sure that many hacker can steal your files and cause more problems to you. Sometimes, the most simple way like using external drive may be the safest way.

    1. I now keep almost everything in the cloud. I started using Google Drive a few years ago now, and am now increasingly using Microsoft Office's 1 TB cloud storage.
For things that are sensitive, they are saved encrypted. I think that Google and the like are much less likely to have an accident that looses my data than I am.

    2. I also keep my files in the cloud too but only some of them because the initial space given for free is too small :( .

By the way, For me, I also agree with you that storing files in this kind of storage is likely to be safer more than I do.

    3. I thought it useful enough that I pay for more storage on Google Drive, and MS Office 365 includes a full terabyte of storage, so I've got no shortage now.

    1. I've heard that there are only little viruses on Mac because there are much fewer people using Mac than people using Window so it is not worth to create viruses for this specific group. That's sound awesome for Mac's user like you. I'm so jealous. lol

  3. Like Knut, I love the convenience of being able to access all my stuff, from very old photos I've scanned to my bank accounts, wherever and whenever. Mobile banking is just one thing I do regularly on my phone, and if I trust that to the Internet, why not trust the rest to it?

I think that there are real privacy concerns, but they are more from nasty big governments than private businesses such as Google and Microsoft, who are very sensitive to customer reactions. As the wonderful Mr. Snowden revealed, it was the US who was spying on US citizens and foreign heads of state.

Perhaps a healthy solution is for citizens to insist on strong constitutions to protect themselves from government and official interference and abuse. I think the US Constitution is pretty good:it doesn't have such deadly immoral phrases as "good morals" in it.

  4. Prevention is the better than cure but if you can't protect it " How do you do". I think you should have cut system off linking system. As a result, the harmful viruses can't spread on your internet and the main files still survive working.

  5. Aside from that, malware is also very bothersome though might not be that deadly. The most recent one is Baidu's claimed-to-be program. It automatically installs other program without your consent and then your computer becomes very slow. I don't know for what reasons these malwares are created, but my best guess is that they aims for our personal info.

    1. I hate Baidu neither , but I heard that Baidu company is now founded in Thailand and they want to sell their softwares to our Thai company. It's pretty terrible :(

  6. If my computer is infected with this computer virus, I will feel crazy because I store all important file in my computer. However, if I put my file in cloud or Google Drive, it is risk to be stolen by viruses too. That make me realize that no where is safe for now. Lastly, I really like your quote "Prevention is always better and easier than cure." so I am going to install antivirus to prevent my important file from this harmful virus

    1. As with cloud storage, I think virus protection is well worth paying for. I have it on all my devices - the way it works with my smart devices seems pretty cool to me: sometimes I take "sneak photos" just to see the result.

Not a virus protection program, but the latest Samsung products let me kill them remotely so that they can't be restored for use even by a Samsung technician. I think my very personal data and access to personal information on my phone and tablets is pretty safe. I wouldn't want to lose my phone, but all I would lose is that chunk of glass and metal, unless someone with NSA type resources steals it to pry into my life, but I think it would be a delusional to believe that I'm that interesting to anyone with that sort of capability.

  7. I am one who afraid of any virus, so I have to update anti-virus program every time I open computer because most viruses are always developed. However, it cannot be updated completely sometime. That make me be careful to search internet

    1. Me too. I always give notices to the pop up bar when I am surfing the internet to avoid accept downloading any unwanted program, sometimes come with virus.

  8. I agree with you and I am a person who is afraid of virus computer. From my experience, my data disappeared and could not re-back because of the virus. Anti-virus is ok for a short time because virus develop itself very fast so programmers also work hard to protect the virus. As for me, it's good ways to save any files on other devices such as one drive, dropbox, external harddisk.
