Inspired Business Ideas

Are you discourage to follow your dream? If yes, please read this article. It might inspire you to follow your dream again, I do confirm.

According to http://www.bbc.com/news/business-27203656, It is about Sophi Tranchell, a left-wing person who does not have any background in formal business training, but can be successful. She shared her real experiences when become a Divine Chocolate boss.

When I first read this news a day ago. I have got a lot of knowledge from her. The easiest way to do when you are new is question. Moreover, I agree with her logic that she did not only concern about the outcome, but also gave a precedence to the farmer. The ingredient section is also important, not less than other ones in doing business. The product will not have a good quality, if the beginning is not. I think most business worry about making a profit. It is undeniable that profit is needed but it is better to pay attention to the employee’s mind, our society, and environment.

I love to learn some knowledge about business from other experiences more than read it in book. I think the real situation is more practical. TOMs shoes is the most favourite raw model to me to have my own business in the future. I heard it when I was a design student. My teacher took this to be an example of SE(Social Enterprise) project, a project which trade for social and environmental purpose. In this case, they believe that they can improve people’s lives through business, with every product that you purchase, TOMs will help a person in need.

  1. What are TOMs shoes? You say that "The easiest way to do when you are new is question(para. 3), and I'm new to this area. When I read it, also like the idea that we need to question: and questioning, checking, everything is an important element of academic work.

    1. TOMS Shoes is the company which beginning with one American man traveled to Agentina and saw that the children in there, did not have any shoes to protect their feet. Therefore, he created TOMS, to help them. If you purchase one pair, another one is given to the childern in need, which is named One for One.

This is Social enterprise. The purpose is not noly making a profit as much as they can, but improve the people' lives, society, and environment too.

  2. As I read Nan's response, her third and fourth paragraphs, I wondered about another example: did Bill Gates do as she suggested?

And that leads to another question: if seriously rich people do not do that, but, for example, inherit their money and power, should they be respected as much as business people who create value for others in the way that Gates, Steve Jobs and others do?

    1. Your response let me think that in fact people respect others because of their money or their goodness. In this cruel world, I think money come first, doesn't it?

"The more you’re rich, the more respected you got." It sounds like undeniable fact for me.

  4. After I read your blog post, I really want to read more about Sophi Tranchell's story. Although I don't like business and only have little knowledge about it but her story seems interesting to me. I think I might obtain some idea that can improve myself.

And I also agree with you that learning from experiences is better than just reading in a book because we will face many things more than in the books have. Some strange situations can be solved easily if we have a lot of experiences.

    1. I like mine very dark - a piece or two go very well with my afternoon coffee, or as I'm reading in bed before going to sleep.

I don't generally like milk chocolate or too sweet chocolate, but sometimes I give in to a craving and buy a box of nice truffle chocolates. This is disastrous if I'm at home alone.

    2. I also love to eat some chocolate. Moreover, I have ever read and watched 'Charlie and the chocolate factory', it has made me more and more enjoy eating chocolate, and dreamed to have my own one like this story.

    3. Have you ever tried MAROU Chocolate? I think it is so delicious.
Even it was a pretty strange at the first bite because its taste was not the same when compared with the other ones that I have eaten.
