Wann's Academic Interests

My academic interest is law, particularly banking and financial law. Recently, I graduated from the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University, and now I have been admitted to the Extended Graduate Program in Banking & Financial Law at Boston University. I am really interested in securities, stock market, investment and banking process. I think it is quite challenging to learn about all these subjects. While I was a third year student, I took a securities law class. At first, I thought that it was not that easy because there were a few people who got an A. However, I decided to take this course no matter how hard it was. While I was studying, I realized that it was the hardest course that I had ever taken. I needed to learn about mathematics which I had never learnt after finishing high school. However, it was the greatest course that I had ever taken. My professor taught me about a thinking process, and this could change my thought.
Law students need to think about how to come up with new legislations which could be enforced in reality. To be honest, he is the one who inspired me to continue my master in banking and financial law. Currently, banking and financial lawyer is needed due to the Asean Economic Community (AEC). Hopefully, when I come back, it would be easy for me to find a job.

    1. Some interesting ideas here in Pooms comment. What is the connection between laws and human rights? Do laws usually protect human rights?

    2. I think laws are different in each country. Some protect the human rights, and some not. In come countries, such as Afghanistan, women don't even have rights to study.

In my opinion, the good laws have to protect both human and human rights.

    3. In my opinion, laws do not protect the human rights only. Living in society, people need to obey the rules of law because this can make people living together peacefully. Therefore, people will a right in a limited way. "Human rights" is a wide word and has many aspects. We might have to specify which aspect that we want a full protection. For example, people in all countries always want a right to vote. This right should be provided by law in every country, one right one vote. We need a full protection in this kind of rights.
