Processed fruit can solve exported fruit problem?

Exporting tropical fruit firms usually concerned their quality of products that must be protected from insects that could be a negative effect for Indian exporting now.

According to “Ban on Indian mango imports to EU comes into force.” (2014), it is a clearly problem, that is imported Indian mangoes was banned on because some of them were proofed to be infested by fruit flies.

Tropical fresh fruit is one of the tourist attractive reasons why non-Asian people want to visit the country like Thailand, Malaysia, and India. The well-known one is mangoes which are sweet and a bit sour. I am sure that mangoes can be mixed with cake and ice-cream perfectly like  mixed fruit short cake, mango ice-cream.

However, as read a reference article, I really think about how to solve the fruit exporting problem. In my opinion, when I bought some fruit or vegetable, I have never mind about a little bites on the vegetable but fruit surface must be clean and not rotten. Insect bites on the fruit can cause the price goes down easily or it cannot be sought. Nowaday, the fruit farmers must take care of their products with covering material like tissue or foam, since they were small on the trees. In addition, some farmers choose an organic system to prevent the lose from insect disturbance and to avoid chemical pesticide usage. I think the products from the system can be found fruit flies less than an ordinary system, but this process must be higher budget investment. If I were a fruit farmer, I would do the organics system to reduce the insect problem. However, I believed that insect problem still be found less, the exporters must proof their product more deeply to guarantee the product quality. At this point, I realized that there are many amount of fruit product are lower product quarantee. What should we do?

If the their quality inside the products is higher than fair average, but their surface are got some defects from mistaked transport or insect. As a result of these, the quality of these will get a lower grade and cannot be exported to other countries. I think that the defected fruit as mentioned, can be changed to processed products which can increase the product value, for example dried fruit snack, jam, instance fruit products, fruit extract ingredient in beauty products etc. However, the idea that I mentioned is be both small and mass product industries that can be attractive to new line export custumers.

  1. I agree that organic foods cost more to produce, and hence cost consumers more. But do organic foods have more or less insect problems? I would have guessed they have more insect attacks than non-organic, but that's just my guess, and I really don't know.

More interesting, I think, is whether organic food is healthier or not to eat (I don't think it is), and whether it's better or worse for the environment. What do others think?

  2. I am a big fan of Thai fruits. I love their varieties, tastes and nutrients. When I have choices, I usually choose fruits or vegetable with some stains from harmless insects instead of those having a perfect plastic look because I think it seems to have less insecticide.

Processing fruits is a good idea for sellers to transform their unqualified products into something that can be exported. However, consumers must admit the fact that most processed food loses its nutrients and has preservative.

  3. I love dried fruit. But I love fresh fruit more. Nowadays, there's a lot of new ways to prevent fruit from insects and help slowing the rotting process. One of them is genetic engineering. I think it maybe the solution for people who love fresh fruit like me.

  4. I think the organic system is quite interesting but it also led me think that do we really want the organic food or we just simply want the safe food? Perhaps, it will be good if we can clarify this question.

  5. I would agree with Pueng' s comment that she choosed vegetable and fruit which got some strain from insects than insecticide,if I buy for eating them.

However, in feild of exporting products, most of them must be concerned about the quality and perfect look. I think that if the products which keeping perfect look, can be guaranteed as insecticide free, it will increase their value and safe for consumer who mind about it. Can anyone please suggest me about the better ways than organic system?

About the simple way to eat fruit safety, I normally cut their surface out eat it because I am never mind their outside surfaces.
