Leo's Academic Interests
My academic interests are History and English. Both are very infatuating, another reason is that other academic things are too hard. I really love to find more information and origin about history that I studied but I have to do it many times because it is so easy to forget. I have to read it everyday for a week to remember ; Moreover, I have another new idea that is I would study history in English language. I can make it simultaneously. Unfortunately, It's hard to understand so I have to use my dictionary help.

Wow!!! it sounds interesting. Your academic interest inspire me to go back to reading history book, watching history movies. I hope that you'll keep reading history and practicing your English skills. You'll be an excellent person. Keep working!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThankyou P Jan :)
DeleteI've also loved history since I was in primary school. But my interests are a bit ancient - I suspect I know ancient Greek and Roman history as well as I do my own country's history, although over the last few years, I have read more in Australian history as well.
ReplyDeleteWhen I do read modern European, or any other modern history, I tend to make comparisons with ancient Greece. Maybe it's useful to know one area fairly well so that such comparisons can be made to help to better understand both cultures?
I think my interest began when as a child at home, I read the books in family home about the gods and heroes of ancient Greece, lavishly illustrated with great sculpture. The sculpture seemed sexy, which was exciting and very different to what was normal in the rural area my family home is in in Australia.
If you are keen, in the AEP rw3CD class, and sometimes in the Reading and Speaking class, we read dialogues by Plato and learn about ancient Athens through his portrayal of Socrates. (If I have a choice, I tend to chose things to study that reflect my own passions, which you might discover later this term.)
DeleteYes, I am really interested when I found some different cultures between other areas and mine. but I am sure that I will slowly forget everything. so bad I can only remember some thai history.
DeleteI'm afraid I have to say that I don't have any interest in history. I even got low grades for history in high school because I just couldn't remember the names, places and things. But I do love travelling to historical places. I'm always fascinated by its atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI like history too, I used to watched History Channel every morning when I was very young because I'm interested in European History. But now it's not much interesting for me because I had to remember all the history for the admission exam (I know you did).
ReplyDeleteI think your academic interest is quite interesting. You will get a lot of things while you are reading and this could help you in many ways. For example, you will know about mistakes that people in the past did and this could make you realize to avoid doing them. Furthermore, there are a lot of fun stories as well. Enjoy your reading.
