Mylk's Academic Interests
Besides Law, I'm interested in Politics, particularly democracy. It is an area dealing with power and internal affairs for all citizens. It is sometimes superior to law because the law is contemporarily dependent on the owner of sovereignty. For example, In Thailand we used to be one of the democratic countries. However, once the soldier stepped in and ousted the caretaker prime minister, the country is no longer democratic. Some people strongly support the democracy. Others merely want the happiness, better standard of living and security in any forms of administration.

My concerns would be " Back then, were we Thai people ready to accept Democracy?" and/or "Does so-called Democracy exist in the real world, to begin with?" Because to me Democracy in Thai context is nothing but a tool to justify the ruler's authority/power to do whatever they're pleased.
ReplyDeleteTo put to extreme, every form of administration is a tool to justify the ruler, either democracy or communism. Even Thai citizens were not ready for democracy, they did not have a choice. The sovereign belonged to the King, not the subjects.
